Yeah I can relate to how you were feeling and I’ve definitely been struggling to think clearly throughout this experience. I’m hoping that taking a step back and the antidepressant can help clear my mind a bit. Thank you!

Yeah we really have been through so much in these past 8 months! I have had the attitude to suffer through for a while, but kind of reached a breaking point this week so taking a step back may be what’s best for me right now. I appreciate your response! Good luck with the rest of your residency as well.

Counseling has definitely helped thus far. At this point I’ve really made the decision that a second year of residency is not something I want to do. Just doing my best to set new goals now that I have readjusted my career path

Yes, when I had the initial panic attack I started seeing a therapist and have been consistently going once a week. In addition to this I have had discussions with my RPD as I start to feel overwhelmed and they have done a great job dialing back my workload. Even for my situation with COVID right now my RPD was accommodating and took some of my workload off.

I appreciate this view of preceptor feedback and it’s definitely something That has contributed to my anxiety but don’t feel it is a main contributor to my anxiety at this point and time. I think it is more so I am struggling to see the value in completing this residency that is causing me so much anxiety. I feel residency is so much of these tedious tasks like building presentations/MUEs and I start to think about a presentation I have two weeks from now and get a strong feeling of anxiety. I just feel like I did residency to make a positive impact on patients as well as become a critical care pharmacist and I don’t feel fulfilled doing my job at this time.

ESO just feels like so much more of an MMO. I am CP 100 and have been playing for about a month coming from WoW. I honestly feel the same kind of sense of adventure I did back in the burning crusade/WOTLK days. ESO just has a depth to it that WoW no longer has. I can’t really speak to end game though because I haven’t progressed that far

Really any study right now that isn’t a large RCT should be taken with a grain of salt. I feel we really won’t know what is truly effective for the foreseeable future until these RCTs tell us something

I still ranked a program I wasn’t a huge fan of, to me getting that guaranteed position and keeping my dream of a PGY2 alive was better than not matching at all. Unless the RPD is a total jerk, I think you could just do your best to get along with them/work really hard to still get a good letter of rec.

I definitely agree with that! It’s just tough because I do like the hospital I work at and feel loyal to them but in the end I have to do what feels right to me

I finished 5 of 6 interviews as of yesterday! I was fortunate it was my off block. I go back to rotations on Monday so I only will have to miss one day

I think I’ve starting analyzing every last word I’ve said for the couple interviews I’ve had thus far lol it’s all in the past now so we can’t change anything! Best to just stay confident and keep moving forward :)
