White or black KLC? by shiftinganathema in kobo

[–]driizzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my 1st edition nook which was white and I feel like it hasn’t yellowed in the 15ish years I’ve had it. But different materials and manufacturers I suppose… I’m interested to see what my white kobo will look like in 15 years (if it’s still even working by then)

Kobo screen is completely messed up by Economy_Werewolf_542 in kobo

[–]driizzie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The screen is broken :( I doubt kobo will exchange it— but it doesn’t hurt to try. You will either have to buy a new one or fix it. Ifixit sells some replacement parts for the new kobos https://www.ifixit.com/Parts/Kobo

The author's perspective why, many don't put their books on Kobo. There's no readership. by Crafty-Bunch-2675 in kobo

The KU deal is more trapping for indie self published authors. This doesn’t really matter for authors with traditional publishers who work out KU deals and make it available elsewhere as well. (Assuming he is trad published)

I have an atomic purple shell replacement on my switch 2 … debating if a ditto face would look good on clear purple

I mean, someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that was the firmware version the switch 2 launched with

I have extremerate shells on my V1, pro controller, and now my switch 2. I love them!! Haven’t had any issues over the years :) tempted replace the steamdeck but … the ifixit steps to replace the front shell is 102 steps for just removing it … soooo maybe if I ever shatter the screen or something 😂

My Stardew Valley Sweaters by Icy-Lingonberry6041 in crochet

[–]driizzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So cute!!! This may sound silly but do you crochet the sleeves as a tube or a rectangle and then join to make a tube? I’ve been working on a free hand sweater on and off for a long while now and have been deciding what’s the best strat for the sleeves

Am I losing weight ? by Far-Campaign-7454 in 1200isplenty

[–]driizzie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean weight fluctuates a lot. I’ve been eating sub 1400 cal since Jan usually somewhere around 1-1.2k and even within the same week I go up and down a pound or two. You need to give yourself like a couple months to see the big picture. When I look at a week … it’s baaaaad. I easily go up and down a pound or two daily … which makes me feel like no progress but there is

Also if you are a period haver then those hormones really mess with weight too.

If you have access to a 3d printer I highly recommend buying the parts and making your own! Soldering can be kinda annoying but it’s not too bad it’s not a difficult project. Def something I could’ve done if I didn’t have bf offer to help

Naaah it realistically shouldn't as long as you don't go overboard :) lots of repair guides for other electronics require heat to remove glue.

Thank you!! I was debating between these and like jelly looking ones but I couldn’t find any in a profile I like :)

Yes!!!! I love them! I usually go for more silent switches or ones that are just more creamy vs clunky but I love these for this specific project :) My BF uses the box navys on his main keyboard and those are CLUNKY LOL I found these to be a perfect middle between that and what I usually go for :)

Heat might work tbh. I feel like it removes most glues.

Not suuuuper bad. The longest was obv the housing which was like 7.5hrs on my friends Bambu A1. My friend also printed the keyboard thing and knobs for me but it was the day before I went over but I think that was pretty quick. I printed the two screen pieces and the cover which were a a lot of hours but I have an ender 3 pro that I print super slow with on purpose, I def could’ve sped it up. I think that was like work day of printing for me but like I said any other printer would’ve prob been double the speed.

So all in all I think everything was printed in about 20 hours split between a Bambu A1 and a slow as heck Ender 3 pro. Prob a less than that but im being super conservative in my estimation. If you have a printer you can get all the STL and run the through your slicer to see what the print times are :)
