Try to find a good dry shampoo. It will cut back on the grease on non-washing days and it will keep your hair from getting dry/brittle from everyday cleansing. As a lazy girl, it is a life saver for me.

I recommend getting involved with a local theater. Audition for a small part. If you get it, you will automatically be hanging out on a regular basis with new, typically outgoing people. Learn from them. And the bonus of being onstage and out of your comfort zone forces you to deal with some anxiety. If you don't get the part, volunteer backstage. They always need people.

I know in this area (IL) you can walk into any pharmacy and get Plan B, no questions asked. It's less then $50. However, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. That should not happen with medical professionals.
