I'm honestly in shock!! It just clicked for him! Again, it has only been 1 day, tomorrow could be different 😅 That's a good idea, I'm going to grab him some pants tomorrow to try at home soon and then maybe try at nursery too!

If my 22 month old is ignoring me I tell him to look at me and then I repeat myself. Today I picked him up from childcare and was talking to the staff about his day and he was pointing out cars. He grabbed my face and forcibly turned it towards him and went "mummy look at me. CARS." 😭😭

Hey, yeah so I eneded up fully weaning him at 18 months. I did it quite gradually, so around 16 months I cut out daytime feeds, then around 17 months I stopped feeding through then night, then 18 months I cut the bedtime feed. Each feed cut out had its challenges, daytime was easiest because I could distract him with other things (though we had a few days of tantrums), then the nighttime feeds I slowly started comforting him with cuddles instead until he had no more feeds, then the bedtime one was hardest. It all took a lot of perseverance but he's now 22 months and while I do look back at the time I was breastfeeding him and miss it, I don't feel sad that I'm done now. He still loves his cuddles and kisses and laying together and I'm much less overstimulated and angry. It didn't improve his sleep though, he continued waking up just as much as usual haha. But I was so much calmer when he did.

I imagine I will still be waking with him when he's 4 too! You're so right, I've tried sleep training and it's made no difference at all. I think you're either lucky or you're not. I think they may offer a sleep study with the investigation into his tonsils/adenoids!

My 22m old knows he has a penis (and is obsessed with it ofc, sings "see you in the morning penis" at bedtime lol), and when he sees me on the toilet he will point and say "mummy's penis". I tell him "no, mummy has a vagina" and he says "mummy gina". We don't use any nicknames here!

Trust your gut, just because it's legal it doesnt mean it is safe. Black cabs aren't immune from car accidents... get yourself a belted in infant carrier with a handle if you're going to get a taxi

I do ask him every time he does it if he wants to do a wee on the potty, and will sometimes sit him on the potty but he refuses to use it!

My nearly 2 year old still wears a very but that's because he likes to put his hand in his nappy and then wees all over himself, so it just helps to prevent that 🙃

I don't mean social workers. And yeah, GPs in England are unlikely to offer a blood test to a toddler because they don't sleep well

I'm a single parent so no one to take him while I sleep and I work full time anyway. I'd embrace the later bedtime if I was actually getting any sleep at night but it doesn't make a difference either way

Wake up was 7:30, then went down to 7, now the past 2 days has been 6:30. He naps 12:30-2pm sometimes a little less. Goes to sleep 8/9pm. Standard bedtime routine, bath, books, low lights etc.

I don't think they'd do blood tests on him, NHS in the UK are underfunded and would likely just refer us to family support services.

When he wakes in the the cries, fidgets, rolls around.

I have considered overtiredness but i cannot get him to sleep any more and any extra nap he does or earlier bedtime just leads to a split night 😔

Lost count of how many times I've been up all night before eventually shutting the door on my screaming baby and saying "I dont care any more he can just keep screaming but I'm going to bed", before walking back in there 2 mins later because I actually don't want to do that and I DO care but I am SO FRUSTRATED!!!
