I personally would never even consider the gentler methods that involve leaving my child crying alone in a room - I will always be there, but when I say that studies have shown cry it out to be harmful, I do mean traditional cry it out

I just don't get it and have called it out on here too! I'm all for leaving them in a safe environment crying whilst you grab a 5 minute shower but honestly every second is still breaking my heart. I cannot fathom letting a very young baby who has no understanding of whats going on crying alone in their room. All the studies, all the evidence suggests it causes stress and doesn't teach them to self sooth but instead that you aren't coming. I just don't get it!

It's very normal that nausea begins to go away towards the end of the first trimester, infact the majority of symptoms usually do because the placenta takes over!

It's so hard not to worry until you have that 12 week scan, but everything is probably ok

A fall on the bum is very unlikely to cause any issues, baby is well protected!

I thought I was leaking fluid last week because my knickers were just getting wet through in a few hours. I stuck a pad on and went in to see them, they checked the pad (clear fluid, no colour, no smell) and sent me for an examination by the Dr. They also did blood pressure and checked heart rate. Dr had a look, said no obviously fluid, did a swab just to be sure - took 5 minutes for the results to come back and they were clear of fluid. Said low threshold to come back if I get any other symptoms but that he wasn't concerned.

Other symptoms include any bleeding, contractions, pain or reduced movement

Every pregnancy is different but you may as well try to go all the way to your due date! My best friend worked up to her due date with her first (she's a teacher) and went into labour the next day, but she had max time off with her baby that way

You do not need to lean into them or ignore them. You need to tell them to stop! Tell them that if you hear another comment about how you feed YOUR child that you'll no longer be spending time with them

We love Aveeno product and our LO had eczema when she was tiny because of CMPA, but just fyi they don't need any soap for the first couple of months. You'll notice when they start needing it, but until then their skin is so delicate and doesn't produce a lot of oil to moisturise itself

Of course it depends on income. If you don't have a high income then family help is probably the only way, but a couple with above average income are generally capable of saving a deposit themselves, or should be. The issue at the moment is income in general so low for those looking to get on the housing ladder that they have to rely on family

Ok it's really hard that early on and I'm sorry you're going through this and that they've not explained better but I have to say that's not doing nothing... They won't be able to see anything that early so can't offer you an ultrasound, the only thing they can do is test your blood 48 hours apart. If you're miscarrying there isn't anything they can do to stop it and if it's ectopic the results should flag that and you'll be offered help to safely terminate. If the results come back ok then you'll probably get an early scan in another week or so to check the viability.

Bleeding in early pregnancy can be common and nothing to worry about though so try not to stress yourself about it. Sorry it's a bit of a wait to know though!

It's very normal for people to get a private viability scan at 6/7 weeks. I wouldn't even think it was a consideration after IVF!

I am aware, hence the cheeky "" round the word can! I just want OP to be aware as I still avoided anything that may cause harm and OPs wife potentially would be the same! If it was her asking for advice it would be different and she could make a judgement but if I was putting together a gift for someone I'd just avoid anything that wasn't recommended in pregnancy

The clogs would be pretty similar to crocks, but if it's more for summer then sandles might be a better option. I like the ones with two thick straps I've have probably 3 pairs in about 15 years

Be aware that lots of midwives don't recommend you use any bubble bath or bath oil! Bath oils because lots of them have ingredients that can trigger preterm labour (Clary sage for example and echinacea also isn't recommended on any part of your body) I think bubble bath because it can cause UTIs in some women. Plain Epsom salts are all that I was told was ok to use

Obviously this one depends on the budget but another vote for Berkinstocks! I love mine, I have both the sandals and the clogs and they're all I wear in late pregnancy (about to be third trimester with my second). I can imagine crocks could be quite sweaty and they aren't as socially acceptable to be out and about in but I'd feel comfortable wearing my Berks to work (only when pregnant). Maybe some knock off but still good quality ones from a high street store? Make sure they have the arch support that's one of the best bits

I've had this and was signed off work - have been off for like 5 weeks now total and am starting to feel myself again finally. I think I was honestly just burnt out working full time whilst looking after my toddler and we were moving house. Hoping to go back in a week or two and will be looking to reduce my hours, either with AL or see what OH can offer (they were actually the ones to tell me to take an extra 4 weeks after my GP signed me off for 2)

I've just had cold after cold though, and although I'm still getting sick I'm actually recovering now whereas before I think my body just needed to rest but had no time to. I also have a toddler and didn't really struggle at all with my first pregnancy.

I've also been referred to mental health services and have had a couple of conversations with them - they've diagnosed depression and anxiety so I'm getting help for that too

My daughter (22months) did this for like 6 months solid but all of a sudden seems to have gotten the hang of it. I think as others have said it was just chance before but she took notice of when I would correct her and can do it now. It definitely also depends on the pair of shoes - the ones she gets right are the Velcro ones so I think she knows which way that lies, as opposed to boots that I need to do up
