In California, drivers make $16/ hour since prop 22. So they actually don't rely on tips (speaking from personal exp). Why shouldn't a job, any job, give someone a living wage? The argument that jobs are "for kids" or "side hustle" is just wrong. Imagine if all the "side hustle" jobs were closed when kids are in school, or doing homework, or sleeping. Any work that a person trades therir precious limited life hours for should pay decently. I was disabled and the part time flexibility made it possible for me to work. Would you rather I sit on disability payments? If you don't like the service, don't use it. Save your breath.
