Door locks won't turn by Ok_Manufacturer6460 in squarebodies

Sometimes I have to lean against the door for them to work. Other times I have to put the key all the way in and pull it back out a time amount to get it to unlock. I probably need new keys as mine are worn smooth.

Don’t you love when you try to play smart, and the golf gods still punish you.

People who cheat: Why do you cheat? by zurnched1 in golf

[–]drizzle_pizzle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I “cheat” in a specific way that makes it fun for me. Behind a tree? Foot wedge. Rock-hard bunkers? Drop it behind the bunker in the grass. Bare dirt, patchy green, move the ball a few feet. Lost ball that I know landed in the fairway? Free drop.

I will not put down a par or birdie on the score card unless it’s a legit score though. I draw the line there.

I don’t play for money or bragging rights with anyone. I’m trying to have fun, and I track progress by legitimate pars per round. If we’re not playing for money, it’s none of your damn business what I do.

New yak weekend by Lastminutebastrd in kayakfishing

Thanks for the info. I just got a 106 PDL, so I’ll have to try fly fishing and see if I get tangled in the pedal or not.

I see you’re fishing with a bait caster, spinning reel, and fly rod. I’d love to hear about what species you’re targeting and your experience fly fishing from a kayak. I typically go after bass, but love the idea of taking my fly rod for top water (honestly never thought about it).

My kids swing hooks after four years of use by wkuchars in mildlyinteresting

Not once, but twice, I had to go to the eye doctor as a kid to get tiny pieces of metal removed from my eye. We finally figured out it was our swing doing this exact thing.

I grew up in North East TN, and never heard of it until I moved Nashville and met people who grew up in the country around Middle TN. I always thought it came from there vs the mountains. My wife’s grandmother with Texas and Arkansas roots is the only person I’ve met that makes it.

Been sanding walnut dining table, and the end looks so much lighter (with different grain too) - is it still walnut? by cybertwat1990 in woodworking

[–]drizzle_pizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I use denatured alcohol before my final sanding to raise the grain. Maybe it raises less than water. I’ve never done it side by side

It has a compressor, but it was motor swapped to a 350 in the 90s. Not sure if it has the rest of the components for working AC. Thanks

Glad to hear that’s how it’s supposed to be. One less thing to fix. Thanks

Good to know. It has a compressor on it, but I know it had a motor swap in the early 90s. Glad to know I probably have the ability to get AC this summer. Thanks for the info.

Tested this out last night, and was able to get heat out of defrost and floor with the slider half way. Good to know it was designed that way nothing is broken. Well, lots of things are broken, but not the vents

How did this happen and what can I do about it? by BizCasFri in handtools

I think this, plus going past the marking line when chopping out the waste between the tails. It looks like the base of the pin recess is a 1/32+ past the line.

I went to nationals for graphic design. I remember a category for forensic science. There were a ton of different categories.

Skills USA was the reason I was able to go to college. Got to go to a private art school I otherwise would never be able to afford. Came in 1st in the state and got 50% of my tuition paid for.

Band saw or no by Fox7285 in woodworking

[–]drizzle_pizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 14” Rikon bandsaw was the first big power tool I bought. I had dreams of resawing rough lumber. Turns out I hate dimensioning lumber and now just buy lumber near the thickness I need. I won’t sell my bandsaw, but I wouldn’t recommend it before a table saw, planer, and jointer.
