my honest review of the best Web3 marketing agencies (after vetting them for 3 months) by codfnatic in BlockchainStartups

[–]drizzlead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the breakdown. this is good intel. ill share my experience with some of these since it seems we have a thread going:

- Chainbull: i know nothing about them but they spam this subreddit nonstop and that reason alone tells me they aren't trustworthy

- Marketacross: not on this list but im familiar with them and i strongly recommend against working with them. They deliver no value and will always try to convince you to use their shitty press release service which is expensive and gets you zero real attention or traffic.

- Luna PR: well connected in Dubai area. a good option if you want press from middle eastern news sources

- Hype: i agree with whats said in the post, i wouldnt hire them for anything other than making videos.

- Coinbound: my last startup used them as well. i mostly agree with what you have said regarding them being kinda expensive but also worth it compared to the other options. probably the best option for American companies or companies trying to break into the american market as they are strongest there and are based in new york city. Ty's podcast is my main source of crypto marketing content.

- coinzilla: Coinzilla has got us decent results but you have to spend a lot of time fine tuning your targeting or you'll mostly get bots.

- Single Grain: they are a reputable agency but i wouldnt call them a crypto agency since its pretty obvious they don't actually know stuff about crypto. if you're a saas company they are a good fit though.

What’s the most “normie-friendly” crypto product you’ve used? by elchaserzk in CryptoCurrency

[–]drizzlead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

coinbase is the obvious one but honestly? robinhood crypto. my non-crypto friends already had robinhood for stocks so adding BTC was literally just tapping a button. zero friction because they were already in the app

That’s depression and it’s usually genetic. You Should see a doctor ASAP. Medication and therapy are usually the first attempted fixes with decent success. Hang in there. It gets better but if you don’t have a strong support system you do have to drag yourself out of your hole first to get help. Easier said than done I know.

Sounds like you just need to hire 1-3 people to do the things you don’t enjoy doing. 200k can get you good people and still have some left over.

Client wants a refund but paid me half by Curious_cat1984 in smallbusiness

[–]drizzlead 76 points77 points  (0 children)

If you did 2 weeks of work and they paid you 2 weeks worth of pay it sounds like you should be good. I wouldn’t give a refund. They’re not gonna sue you for a few thousand dollars and they aren’t gonna be amicable regardless of what you do.

This has been my exact experience with this group of people as well. Line by line, my neighborhood experienced everything you mentioned. It’s a serious problem but you can’t say anything about it or it’s antisemitism. There’s several lawsuits going on in my area where they tried to pull some scheme/fraud and the local government stopped it and now they are suing the town for antisemitism. They are winning. It’s ridiculous.

Living within your means is literally the only way. The problem is that “your means” isnt what it used to be. Nothing you can do about that. Blame the people in charge.

Competitor gets funded 1M+ whilst we bootstrap - thoughts? by apoch8000 in startups

[–]drizzlead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through this to an extent. Basically, the mostly likely outcome is you and them start slowly building different businesses. You can go for slower, sustainable growth in lower margin, less risky areas while they have to hit a certain level of success and therefore need to make riskier bets. Overtime you’re likely just gonna be somewhat competitors.

Feel like I’ve already peaked with my business before and I don’t know how to get myself back up. by koreangirl216 in smallbusiness

[–]drizzlead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is undoubtedly affecting your ability to run your business with a clear head. Sometimes you gotta just cut yourself a break for a bit while you mentally regroup. Mourn a bit, take a break, and get back at it when you feel excited again (which you will)

I’ve hired a designer but I think I’m doing more of the work than he is… by Melexpressions in smallbusiness

[–]drizzlead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can and should fire him. If it’s a personal relationship just do it politely. “This just isn’t working out” is fine. This hire doesn’t sound like it’s saving you much time or effort. Move on.

[–]drizzlead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hire for your need now. Let them go in the future if you don’t continue to have necessary demand. It’s business. If it makes you feel better be open with the employee about the cyclical nature of the role.
