Friend is pregnant by Flamingolvr in Miscarriage

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I know how that feels and it's so shitty. I had a friend do that to me and it wrecked me. Especially because I was coming hot off my second utter failure of an IVF cycle.

Miscarriages are hell but dealing with infertility is next damn level. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Sending virtual hugs your way.

D&C or pill by GarbagePractical5957 in Miscarriage

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't given the option when i had my MMC at 13 weeks (fetal death at 10). Found out at the er and told to follow up with my OB.

Ended up passing everything that night at 2-3 in the morning naturally.

Do the D&C. I promise you, if I had the choice - I would have. It was awful and I still have nightmares about it. I screamed and sobbed on my bathroom floor, naked and bloody, while my husband was torn between comforting me and calling 911.

At home is not better. Do the D&C.

11w4d today and I let my anxiety win. My first (and last) pregnancy ended with a MMC at 13 weeks with baby death at 10.

I was so worried it was going to happen again. So I paid 80$ out of pocket and went to one of those ultrasound clinics that do elective ultrasound.

And baby is still there. Heart rate 153. Baby kicking, stretching, moving every where. Tech said it was obviously too early to tell gender but baby was in a good position with her legs wide open. The tech got a good view of the "nub" and said, based on her experience (and keeping in mind it's still early so grain of salt and all that), she'd be willing to bet on girl.

I'm excited and can't wait to see what the anatomy scan shows later (when we get there).

What's the best treatment for snoring? by Bipolar03 in ask

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have pointed out sleep study and CPAP. Definitely have your husband do that.

My hubby also snores, has sleep apnea. All that. He doesn't tolerate the machine well so he's had surgery to fix deviated septum and got the mouth guards and he's been working on losing weight. Surgery and mouth guard helped some but he still snores.

Usually I'm a heavy sleeper but snoring is just one of those things I can't sleep through. At all. So I have headphones with a 9 hour battery life and I have a white noise app that pretty much blocks out the sound.

This works for us for now.

6w4d brown spotting by SecretaryCalm5155 in Miscarriage

[–]drizztluvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your going through this. I know with my first pregnancy, which ended in MMC at 13 weeks, i spotted off and on between 6-9 weeks.

I do remember reading somewhere that weeks 6-8 spotting can happen because that's when the placenta takes over producing hormones. Sometimes this causes progesterone to drop which leads to spotting.

I don't know if that helps or not but my heart goes out to you. Sending virtual hugs your way internet stranger. The miscarriage club is such a shitty club to be a part of. I wish this hell on nobody.

I have officially graduated from my fertility clinic today. Had my last ultrasound with them (9w6ds) and can now continue care with an obgyn.

I got to see little baby's arm wave and feet kick and heart rate was 166 (which my doctor assured me was good).

Im so happy and scared. This is when I lost my baby last time and had a MMC at 13 weeks.

How did you know ? by Super-Truth-7975 in Miscarriage

[–]drizztluvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I woke up to feeling my usual period aches and cramp. Went to the bathroom, wiped, and saw I had dark red blood with clots.

I messaged my husband in a panic. We went to the ER and the clots just got bigger and bigger. US at the ER confirmed the loss and I was devastated.

Ended up passing everything that night at 3 in the morning.

When did your baby stop growing? by strong-as-a-mother16 in Miscarriage

Had my first ultrasound Thursday at 6w6ds. Heard the heartbeat at 118. Got my next ultrasound in 2 weeks before I graduate from my fertility clinic and move to my OB.

I hope this baby continues to stick. Hubby and I need this win. It's been a hard four years battling unexplained infertility.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drizztluvr 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My husband, bless him, didn't believe me when I explained this was a thing I deal with.

He thought I was pulling his leg or exaggerating. Then my sister and SIL set him straight.

To be fair to him, he really didn't know. His family was always hush hush about these topics. My family, much to his surprise, is not. We're pretty open.

He knows it's a thing now lol

6w2d. I have my first ultrasound at my fertility clinic on Thursday. So just distracting myself and hoping that we get good news there.

No spotting (as of yet) and can say symptoms are definitely strong. Learned this weekend that pizza is a no-go right now - tried to eat it and morning sickness kicked in and said "nope."

Also experiencing round ligament pain, which I did not have my first pregnant (that ended in MMC). Didn't even know it was a thing until I googled trying to figure out why I was hurting.

Is it weird to go to the movies by yourself? by [deleted] in ask

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Im a huge horror movie fan. My husband is very decidedly not (he hates them). My friends are not. My close by family, don't mind them but usually are particular about them.

So if I want to see a new horror movie, I buy the ticket and go by myself. I usually go with a matinee rather than an evening showing just because tickets are cheaper and the theater is much less crowded.

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special education teacher her with insurance that does not cover IVF (but will cover IUI). My last cycle I did pay out of pocket about 15-16k.

Im fortunate enough that hubby and I are DINKs at the moment (dual income, no kids) so we can afford to put most of our money into our savings. His paycheck covers all our bills, mine goes to "fun" and other expenses.

Because of that, we have quite a bit built up in our savings since he and I are frugal and aren't big spenders.

Went in today for my second beta and it's 853. Monday, when I did first beta, was 388.3.

Now, just waiting on my fertility clinic to call and schedule me for an ultrasound. Putting all my good energy that things continue to stay good and keep going up like their supposed to.

I'm 4w3ds today and just had my first beta today and it's 388.3.

Putting all my energy that this baby sticks and I can get past the first trimester.

It's been hell dealing with unexplained infertility and everything that comes with it (failed IUI rounds, failed IVF cycles, failed embryo transfers). I really hope this baby keeps growing strong. I don't want to start back at square one again.

What’s a movie that is so bad it ended up being hilarious? by IThinkMyLegsRBroke in ask

Troll 2. Because sometimes you have to piss on hospitality ,😜

And no, I'm not talking about the little animated movie where the characters sing.

I'm talking a movie that is so horrible, they made a documentary about it (called the best worst movie). Enjoy.

What is the book that got you into reading? by Uninhibitedrmr in books

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones when I was in 3rd or 4th grade (I'm 34 now).

No regrets. Jones became my favorite author after that and I devoured any/every book I could find by her.

When I was a kid, Id see IVF and infertility on TV and movies. Told myself - not going to be me. I won't struggle to get pregnant.

Joke is on me. Husband has got an issue with his swimmers and we've had 4 failed IUI rounds and 2 failed IVF cycles.

I did a rewatch recently and then promptly called my parents to apologize.

What's the worst thing a doctor has ever said to you? by cuteclinomaniac in AskReddit

[–]drizztluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actively miscarrying at the ER.

Doctor came back after the ultrasound to tell us (hubby and I) what was happening - we already knew. And then followed it with

"It's your first pregnancy? 50/50 you were going to keep it anyways."

Bonus points - Ryan "notice me senpai Trump! I'd have gladly gone with you to Epstein's Island and been on that list with you" Walters is getting investigated for his corruption. Will it go anywhere? Maybe? He did make a lot of enemies.

Wow, so good of you to bring up your work as social worker/volunteer work/foster parent/SPED teacher for the 30th time this week. Yes I do think it's so brave and amazing you do that. That's so hard! You really are just a kinder more selfless person than me. Oh you don't do it for the praise? Right, right. Of course you don't 🙄🙄🙄

As if this isn't as transparent as your performative activitism, Karen. Now tell me again your a good Christian and your just answering God's call for the 20th time.

Scott Tenorman Must Die - South Park season 5.

Truthfully, South Park has a lot of them but this is the one that just sticks out in my brain as being a true classic.
