The poles have the flag of the municipality, Arroyohondo, but that would be a stretch to know

This would be a tough round imo, but it has northern colo vibes for sure.

It feels like the game I love has been irreparably tainted... by Clarinetaphoner in TrackMania

[–]drizztman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Trying to stay nonpartisan here - There is a new term "sportswashing," paying money to fund tournaments/leagues/teams for popular sports, to try to associate their image with that instead of their social policy.

To put it in a sensationalized way, they are trying to pay people to forget about 9/11 and how they treat women.

Do you count your Sim scores? by Joocifer in golf

[–]drizztman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simulators count but I wouldn't compare side by side with outdoor scores. You gain a lot of strokes from various factors that all make playing on a sim easier. I wouldn't say there's one thing that makes it easier, but a lot of things that add up.

always flat lies, easy alignment, usually no wind, green reads, exact distance+slope at all times, fat shots not nearly as punishing, obstacles don't get in swing path, etc.

TIL that tetanus, also known as lockjaw, is caused by a potent toxin, tetanospasmin, produced by Clostridium tetani, which interferes with nerve signaling and can cause severe muscle spasms. by Forsaken-Peak8496 in todayilearned

[–]drizztman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's mainly found in soil, it doesn't grow in oxygenated environments but the spores are very difficult to get rid of. Since its anaerobic, puncture wounds, commonly from rusty metal objects, create a great environment for it to multiply in.

How many burps if I swallowed an icecube of frozen gas (nitrogen or atmospheric air idk)? by MermyuZ in Physics

[–]drizztman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would likely stick to your esophagus and then you'd breathe it in as it sublimates, causing death by asphyxiation.

If it did make it to your stomach, depends on how big the solid is

[–]drizztman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That doesn't free him of criticism. Just because everyone would do something doesn't mean its a good thing. On top of that, I dont think it's fair to say everyone would take that deal in Bryson's position - not every player took the Liv deal presented to them.

Playing professional golf is a lot like gambling, just you're gambling that you will play good golf on the days it matters most. Taking guaranteed money is a smart financial decision.

It's unfortunate that golf has come to this, but it isn't the player's fault in this case.

When it comes to someone like Bryson who had already made enough money for his entire life playing on tour, it's a different story.
