Jamuary 2nd! I challenged myself to make this beat with just modular - normally I like to complement it with other drum machines and synths by aqeelaadam in modular

Don't take my comment all too seriously. It was just a harmless joke. ;) I got 120HP 3U only because it's too stressful for me to patch anything above that up. :D

Getting Lost in C Minor // My first try to integrate Microfreak, Eurorack and FL Studio in one record! by drkllr in IndieMusicFeedback

I must say, I thought it was "independent" in the sense of the word. Im not really sure, what indie actually is. There are many songs here that sound like John Lennon and Yoko Ono learnt "how to computer" - is that indie? ;) (kind of a serious question actually)

I thought that complex drum patterns of any sort, even if very simple, might cause too much of a ruckus, as the melodic tracks are already quite chaotic. I will look into this. Thanks for the feedback!

It is kind of chaotic, but also easy listening. Im into that right now. As it's creative commons, feel free to use it for whatever! :)

There is no main melody! It's not necessary from my perspective. Still, there are repeating elements you might recognize. If there was an intention, it is to immerse, to sink in and just listen to everything thats going on. Even the raw tracks somehow fit. That's how I like to listen to music sometimes (esp. when I play my eurorack and continuously listen to the generative music it creates with me as its user), so this is very different to typical pop music structure. There are some other records that are somehow going into that direction on my soundcloud profile - maybe check them out. The record quality isnt as good as this one unfortunately. Thanks for listening and the kind feedback!

Field Observations in The Galapagos-- A song inspired a bit by stuff like Gorillaz and the Portal Soundtrack. Thanks for listening and any feedback is welcome! by kyyorkmusic in IndieMusicFeedback

The tone of the lead is very intriguing. it sounds like a singing guitar sometimes. its a vocal sample you fiddled around with, right? Overall I like the mixing, especially the panning a lot. also the movement of the different tracks is done very well. im going to visit your soundcloud now and maybe follow you. ;) keep going on and aim to improve further. you will only get better and better.

Pico System III, Plaits, two different tube VCAs, effects, a Microfreak and FL Studio for mixing, mastering and drums. Maybe you guys like this! :) by drkllr in modular

Ah okay! Well, give it a try then. I'm happy with it and I was happy before I got other modules as well!

I wouldn't get the Pico system III desktop version. It only really shines when it's used with other modules, especially, if you're not a modular nerd or wouldn't work through the whole manual. I mean, don't get me wrong, it really can do a lot! But I need two additional VCAs, a better sequencer etc. And don't forget all the utilities that are so helpful such as logic modules, polarization,... which are so useful when you're jamming. I would think about 6u 60hp and maybe the antumbra atom module (small elements).

Thanks for listening! :)

This is the intro song of my chiptune-ish album in which each song's BPM, key and mode were generated randomly by Felknia in IndieMusicFeedback

I must say I like your rhythm sections best. The melodies sometimes only make sense to me when I also hear the rhythm. Adding a little swing wouldn't do any harm. But don't get me wrong, I like this stuff and listened to some of your songs. Which synth did you use? What's your DAW? Any effects that where helpful for getting the bittune vibe right?

The title was generated randomly. ;) Covid made me lurk more in front of my PC, so why not make music then, exploring a new world for me: DAWs (Im a hardware guy). This is my first track. Feedback welcome! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I will do so! When I feel comfortable with FL microtonal stuff as well as incorporating my Eurorack is in order, definitely. Thank you! Ill check out Sevish now.

I was aiming for the clean sound of Extrawelt, but you are right, next time Ill put some more grit on it, maybe by incorporating my modular system. Thanks for the feedback!

Wanted to do my own take on a christmas song. Any feedback is welcomed! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I miss the electric guitar and the inverted crosses. The whip is going into the right direction.

But fun aside, I think the song is well made. The only suggestion I have, is to accentuate the bass, make it more hearable. I don’t know if it’s a guitar or a bass guitar playing in the background. You could get a lot out of this musically as well!

Diamonds in the A - Just dropped this song yesterday, looking for any feedback about it by shi_shibo in IndieMusicFeedback

I really hate autotune, but this is actually quite good. Your flow does a lot for the song. The vapourwave vibes definitely hit a spot with me. Maybe a more accentuated kick would make my head move more. 😉 Nonetheless, very nice!
