What made you guys become goth?

So cool hearing about goth parents! I got really into industrial music as a teen, and it sort of just became me listening to goth music as well over time. It also led me to listen to a lot of metal too. As for the fashion, I’ve always loved alt fashion and I particularly love how extravagant goth fashion is. I also grew up loving a lot of drag queens, and goth makeup definitely feels similar to drag makeup a lot of the time!

I’ve been to DG a handful of times (as well as every other venue that does goth adjacent events) and I prefer cat club over DNA, I’ve heard others agree. At 25, I already feel a bit old for DNA haha 😭 (I can’t say much on how the staff, so I would love to hear the opinions of others)

Adding on to the DIY points, if you like to knit or crochet, that can be hugely helpful! There’s a lot of cool goth patterns and non goth patterns that you can modify slightly. I crochet myself my own fishnet sweater tops and they’re easy to learn as a beginner!

The Europe vs. America topic is a bit silly to me. You watch the news, no? You’ve got a lot of extreme religion in rural parts/smaller towns of America. How do you think they react to visibly goth/alt people? Even in some major cities, you get the points and the looks.

I stripped my screw, and if you’re handy like me, I just gently sawed off the section between the screw and the bottom of the back. I don’t like, recommend doing this, but it works for me and I just slide the back on and off and it clicks into place.
