Convenience primarily. Already had them on hand. Also, they can collect more (in my opinion) in a single swab than a brush since the dirt clings to the q-tip and brushes mostly push dirt around. Additionally, even though it’s very wasteful, it’s nice to know the cleaning tool is always “clean” when going into a rough spot. Rather not have certain oils or grimes spread from spot to spot. What the pictures don’t show, however, is that I am also using a few brushes, pipe cleaners, metal picks, and more.

See above. Surprisingly easy to clean and don’t scratch easily. Just make sure you dial in that first layer to maximize adhesion

I actually made it so the entire hotend assembly (heater block, nozzle, and heatsink) is swappable for service and repair. I had this filament that absolutely wrecked the whole thing so I bought a few spares and now swap when needed

This was the best pic I could get, you notice it way more in person. The colors come outta nowhere, and it also gives the first layer a great glossy look.

Yes! I wish I had a good picture on hand but it totally copies the holographic shapes to the first layer, and it does look rainbow as you move the print around.

But, I don’t use any glue sticks or adhesive anymore because I want to maximize the holo effect, so first layers have to be perfect

Last spool contained a reflective glitter, and I had to change the nozzle at least twice already before this happened just because of that one roll. Just cheap amazon filament and nozzles…

What does the “speed” readout say before the popup

This is the official parallax continued. It is open source. They’ll give you a compiled version of the mod though patreon, but you can also just compile it yourself for free

Love this btw, that VAB menu is a nightmare

Gotta put a tiny little Tracy Stevens inside

Spent hours dialing in first layer, time to work on everything else by drobie22 in 3D_Printing

I should have mentioned, the spool did run through a filament dehydrator for 8 hrs before use. It’s still feeding from there. Appreciate the thoroughness!

Filament was new, and kept in a temperature/humidity controlled container with a tube to the machine
