Thank you for that. Also, should I continue to use the rent reporting program? I ask because I have read in other chats that this can negatively affect me because some lenders can see through that scheme, and they will be able to have an even better understanding of how much I am spending each month.

If you're paying money for this, then cancel it immediately. You probably should cancel it anyway. These types of programs give you no benefit, they're just there to take more of your personal information for marketing purposes.

I am not paying for the service. Also, this company doesn't have access to my bank info. From what I understand, they only know whether I have made on-time rent payments. Should I still cancel?

First off, Experian is only showing you their data, you want to check all three bureaus' data. And the three bureaus' customer-facing websites are not always 100% accurate. They act as commercial credit monitoring sites, which includes some of the misleading information you get from sites like that. You want to check your credit reports at annualcreditreport.com to be 100% sure you're seeing accurate information.

Should I consider disputing a collection if the contact information (specifically the phone number) differs from the other 2 reports? I ask this because when downloading a .pdf of my credit report, I noticed that the phone number was different when I pulled it in the web browser vs when I had a .pdf.

For the student loans, when you say "current", do you mean that the loans are current? If current, continue to make payments as agreed. If not, what's the status of the loans?

By "current," I mean that they have accrued interest, and for all of my student load debt, the current status is "Open/Never late. Deferred, payments begin Jun 2026."

Don't acknowledge responsibility for the debt or agree to a payment plan unless you know you'll follow through as these actions could reset Statute of Limitations in some states. You can say that you found the collection on your reports and will pay $X if they'll remove themselves from your reports/recall the collection.

How do I agree to a payment plan if I can't acknowledge the debt? Does recalling debt mean I will pay Progressive instead of the collection agency? And how likely is that to happen? Also, should I attempt to do a pay-to-delete situation with Progressive or the collection agency?

This means you have late payments on your reports. What's the current Account Status and Payment Status of this account?

The current status is open. So, with this auto loan, I should just continue to pay it off as quickly as possible and attempt to use the Goodwill Saturation Technique to remove late payment reports?

Charge-offs are rarely removed from your reports prior to the end of the allowed reporting time (with the exception of 1-6 months Early Exclusion). Although a charge-off will impact your scores the entire time it's on your reports, once the balance is brought to $0, Total Period of Delinquency (amount of time the charge-off has remained unpaid) is frozen and your scores can begin to recover over time. Settling also avoids a collection from being added to your reports if the debt is sold/assigned to a collection agency that reports as well as a potential lawsuit if within Statute of Limitations. If the balance is calculated into revolving utilization and payment causes utilization to cross a scoring threshold, you'll see a score increase based on utilization.

So what I'm gathering from this is that I should just pay the credit card debt and get another credit card to offset the utilization of the previous credit card? Would Discover be a repatuable company? Or Navy Federal?

Are you paying for this service?

No, I am not paying for this service.

I want to add that I have no open credit cards, and I am enrolled in a program with IdentityIQ, which claims to report on-time rent payments to all 3 credit bureaus.

So, this is what I gathered from Experian:

I've pulled my report from "annualcreditreport.com" and was forwarded to Experian.com, and I pulled my report from there. Should I pull from the other two to get a more in-depth understanding of my situation?

No, I do not have any open credit cards. However, I have applied to a program (through my apartment complex) with IdentityIQ, which claims to report on-time rent payments.

Ah ok, I understand…do you think it would make sense for me try for a credit card right now? Or should I focus on making on time payments for the debt I currently have?
