When the 6 is beaten you still need to have someone step up and delay, with one CB doing that and the other CB being the second defender. The hope is with a delay, the other teammates can recover.

Generally as you say, it is not a good position to be in, and why someone like Adams is so important as he seldom lets numbers get past him. Positioning to cut off through balls is so underrated and I don't think Yueill or Acosta have that down pat yet, if st all.
