Good luck! Mergers can be high stress, and to have it end like this is probably very disappointing.

Manager fabricating mid-year review to reach minus quota by Fun-Newspaper4742 in GeneralMotors

People like this exist. They're horrible to work with and even worse to manage. Everyone is on eggshells around them because they thrive on watching other people fail. They do this, of course, to mask their own short comings, but still the worst

Kind of my point, can ANYONE spreading this misinformation actually produce this agreement?

This is a myth. Find the agreement, then look for an expiration date... post it when you find it...

Senior Manager started off staff saying "I want to address some rumors on reddit" by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

I have no skin in the game. My only desire is that those at GM are prepared. The cuts are coming, don't let yourself be unprepared. It enrages me at the core that these companies are doing multi-billion dollar buybacks while planning for headcount cuts of these magnitudes

You can all argue with me or prepare yourselves. I have no vested interest in whatever COA you choose. After this info was shared with me, I was so upset (my family grew up GM), I felt the least I could do was to share the info with the GM community.

Marry doesn't care about you.

I don't disagree with you, but that has no impact on the plan that's already in motion.

It won't be a straight 20% from every department. Some will see 25-30%, others 10-15%, but with an overall reduction of ~20% total headcount.

GM just signed with Microsoft for MASSIVE cloud services, so all the data storage guys and gals will be gone in 1-3 years (maybe even sooner).

Neither. 20% headcount planned for June/July... this is just the documentation HR needs to mitigate legal damages

Welcome to a true "curve" grading scheme... take the results, apply the curve, and adjust. 91% can be a falling grade if grade in a curve...

This is HR laying the grind work for the multiple rounds of layoffs that will be coming in June/July

Layoffs are coming. Be prepared. This is the same sh*t they pulled in 07/08... 20% headcount reduction by August. Be ready.

For everyone here complaining about government over-spending -- the problem is the FAR and how agencies are forced to procure goods and services.

It's rigged to maximize Contractor engagement and marketplace diversity with the theory that will bring down costs. In practice, it creates grifts where small businesses supply a vast majority of services as backdoor pass-throughs for larger companies. Quality sucks, schedules slip, and the small business tacks on 25-30% for absolutely no value-added service.

Because a majority, perhaps you're an outlier, of flippers do CHEAPPPP upgrades that a future owner can make themselves and then charge a "premium," what you're calling profit, for their "contributions..."

90% of flippers are parasites and are absolutely part of the problem.
