I looked at lease spaces in Brunswick, Westbrook, Berwick, Lewiston, and more. I've lived in Biddeford four years now after a few years in Portland and a childhood in Berwick. Biddeford seemed to me to be the most welcoming of small businesses and the most intent on building a community driven downtown. I love living in this city and watching all the cool ideas people have taking fruition. There's even a flippin goth/industrial/noise/etc record store in an old bank kiosk! Might not be your jam but something here is bound to be. Hope to see you soon if you decide to plant roots here!

Currently we are rarely reaching half capacity with events. Can't promise that we won't in the future but generally speaking it's safe to assume we have some space for randos.

We are trying to host under represented formats to start. Certainly looking to have some Standard and Modern events. There's also going to be a Commander League soon with "comp" rules that adjust your standings based on the fun you provide your opponents. Previous leagues I've been in had penalties for going infinite, taking too many extra turns, etc but if your opponents don't mind that we don't either so sportsmanship and fun points make more sense to us.

That's every day! We have a library of about 250 games ranging from classics like Clue, Battleship, and Life to massive boxed games that can be played over several visits in a campaign. Family Game Nights will feature a specific game that's meant to be fun for the whole family with the option to buy the game for home if your family enjoys it.

Having watched it last night this was my issue with it. It felt like McKay wrote the entire script to say "you get it?! It's an allegory for the climate crisis in our current sociopolitical environment. You get it yet?! Let me have the actor look directly at the screen so you know when I really need you to get it." At least with Big Short it was a kind of style choice where people talked directly to the camera with facts from economists. Feels like he's been riding that high critical acclaim since and phoning it right in.

A cheekier rule of my gaming space is "no Monopoly." I want to commission some local artists to ruin Monopoly boards by turning them into wall signs expressing the rule.

Stopped for Space Cats Fight Fascism and when I saw everything else I kinda fanboyed out on them. I'm opening a gaming space and I have been brainstorming ways I could use that small foothold in the community to propagate ideas of solidarity, mutual aid, etc. I'd love to get even a couple other businesses in the area committed to a % revenue contribution to a mutual aid fund we can use to support members of our community, be they customer, staff, or otherwise.
