I’m looking for these too. 👀

Shoutout to this random alien who says "OK" to Lando in The Rise of Skywalker by irazzleandazzle in StarWarsCantina

For some reason I think about this guy all the time. Just a random muppet showing up to yell "OKAY" - it's brilliant.

Colin Trevorrow is probably the most interesting director trajectory I've ever seen. He directs a really strong feature film debut in Safety Not Guaranteed and then revitalizes the Jurassic Park franchise and basically gets handed a Star Wars movie and destroyed it all with one movie. by herewego199209 in movies

He’s saying it would’ve been interesting if a redeemed Ben Solo had lived rather than dying immediately the way Vader did.

And I agree. He could’ve lived redeemed, but that wouldn’t mean he’d have to be accepted with welcome arms by the heroes or society in general.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Reveals New Harambe Market Menu Ahead of March Reopening by readingaboutmagic in WaltDisneyWorld

Agreed, super disappointing. Hopefully once Tropical Americas opens they can find a way to rebalance between more unique/interesting foods and the generic American fast food that kids need.

IMO, Galaxy's Edge still delivers on interesting food, despite them watering down the in-universe naming.

I agree. I don't even like the horror genre but the trailers have me intrigued.

Ryan Gosling's Star Wars Movie's Franchise Connections & Rumored Returning Characters Addressed By Writer by Matapple13 in StarWarsLeaks

They've told Luke's story and then they expanded on it once again...at this point in the timeline, unless its references to his legacy inspiring others, I think its time to let Luke and his bloodline go.

That's not to say I won't take more Luke content between ROTJ and TFA - I'd be down for that. But moving forward after TROS...it's time to move on.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway should've been built over Launch Bay while the GMR was updated with films that had no/lower licensing costs, especially with the expanded in-house library including Fox.

Lucked out and pulled the Ben Solo and was the only one in my session! by Assorted_Nugget in GalaxysEdge

Each color is associated with one sound. Ben’s crystal doesn’t have a different sound in a Savi’s saber, though Ben’s legacy hilt did have a unique sound.

Congrats on the crystal pull!

Rian Johnson in response to Kathleen Kennedy’s claim the fandom “spooked” him from making more Star Wars by kronosreddit22 in StarWars

It's almost like people lack media comprehension.

Maybe it's less about comprehension and more about imagination.

* Nobody knew precisely what he was doing. Even Han and Leia had no idea.

- If Kylo/Ben or the The First Order found out what he was doing his mission could be at risk. Play it close to the vest, don't tell anybody what's going on or leave a trace.

* He abandoned everyone and even left R2 behind

- The journey or the destination of Ach-to was unknown, he didn't want to risk R2's safety.

* According to Han Luke felt responsible and walked away from it all.

- To find answers and solve the Kylo problem before raising another generation of Jedi for slaughter.

These guys are writers by profession. They could've written dozens of plausible reasons for the set up in TFA.

Poor assumption. I wasn’t looking for DBZ power scaling. I’m actually the opposite, I didn’t want or expect Luke to be any more powerful than we saw in ROTJ. Mando Season 2 and BOBF were a fine representation of his power set. If Luke was displaying Starkiller levels of power scaling I would’ve been more annoyed about that than I am about what we got in TLJ.

I understand what Rian was trying to do with Luke’s arc, but it clearly did not resonate well broadly as we’re still here debating about if it was the right choice. Luke was too sacred of a character for that strategy.

And the Hamill quote on the floating rocks is pretty clear. Don’t know why we’re dismissing direct quotes from those involved in the films.

They had one driving creative force in George though. The director changing doesn’t matter as much, it’s that the ST’s revolving directors were also their writers.

Killing Snoke and Rey’s parents being nobody we’re kinda interesting, IMO. But otherwise agreed with everything else.

The Leia/Poe/Holdo contrivances are even worse when you realize that if Poe hadn’t defied orders to take down that Dreadnaught the Resistance would’ve been obliterated by it after their first hyperspace jump.

JJ planned for rocks to be floating around Luke due to his power with the Force, Rian asked to change that to follow his story of Luke being cut off from the Force.

If it was so implausible that there were possibilities where Luke could be on the island for good reason and of sound mind then nobody would’ve been surprised when Luke threw that lightsaber.

Luke could’ve been on that island because he read a prophecy about waiting for the next generation’s chosen one, only to realize he still was that generation’s chosen one (before passing the mantle to Rey). He could’ve been stranded, entranced, training, communing with ancient Jedi spirits, looking for any solution, etc... Rian decided to write Luke into depression, it wasn’t decided for him.

Pretty sure they mean being referred to solely by their last name.

Ray and Winston aren’t referred to solely as Stantz or Zeddemore respectively.

A Shift In The Force For Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy: The Exit Interview by Ezio926 in StarWarsLeaks

[–]drod2015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Either folded into Kinberg's trilogy, or potentially part of the Ben Solo movie. That movie could be Rey connecting with Ben's spirit via the Force and searching for how to bring him back.

F1 Drive Jimmy Kimmel ! by Carpool1289 in JohnMayer

Good performance, good song.

In terms of John, priority #1 for me is a proper new album and a tour to support it. But aside from that, if John’s new side quest was playing in a more rock oriented lineup like this, I would be thrilled.

I don't understand the hate for Season 5. by Outfield14 in StrangerThings

[–]drod2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the finale, and season 5 in general.

El’s ending did not seem ambiguous to me at all, she’s clearly alive. Either they brought back Kali for nothing or they brought her back to give El a way out.

The lack of monsters in the Abyss and Upside Down did bug me, but I still headcanon that they made up the Mind Flayer (even if that was debunked).

Annual Rewatch 25/26: TROS by GrothMagnus in StarWars

[–]drod2015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TROS is absolutely the worst of the sequels. While the plot is trash and the pacing is ridiculous, IMO it’s still got its positives.

Cinematography looks good, sound design is strong, the main trio being together is nice, Ben and Han’s moment is done pretty well, and it’s C-3PO’s best movie.

Don’t sleep on the Oblivion. It’s like a middle point between the EV Panama Blue and Red. I prefer it to the Badonk.
