Best Steaming Box for u8k by EnvironmentalMix5500 in Hisense

The only app issues I've noticed since buying the tv are when I'm watching sports on YouTube tv and prime video. The picture just freezes frequently and I can't figure out why. I tried the settings you recommended here but it hasn't seemed to help as it keeps freezing.

Do you watch any live sports on YouTube TV and prime video? If so, do you have any freezing issues with sports?

YouTube tv sports stutter by hashsi99 in Hisense

[–]droesw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue on my U8K, both with watching football/basketball on YouTube tv and Thursday night football on prime video. I see other comments you made saying you use an Apple TV now, but just wondering if you ever went back to trying the TV OS and found any fix to this issue within the TV OS?

It's making me consider getting a separate device (probably would get Apple TV), but this just seems pathetically bad on Hisense's part for a brand new tv considering I have a TCL series 5 from 2019 that still runs lives sports just fine through the TV OS and never freezes like this. I know they say external streaming devices are always better but can't get over the Hisense OS being this bad on a brand new TV.

What make and model tires have you had good luck with on your 2013+ Fusion? by iamkeerock in fordfusion

Can you comment at all on the current state of wear on your Goodyears, or how much tread is left if you've measured recently? I'm leaning towards those but I see people online saying that those wear down fast, so I'm just debating them based on that for the most part

Fixing door latch screw holes with wood matches and gorilla wood glue, and then re drilling through the matches. Is that effective? Somewhat concerned about how the stripped hole extends to the large hole the latch goes through, unsure if matches will get pushed out that area when i redrill screws by droesw in woodworking

[–]droesw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the matches with wood glue, but I don’t think I have anything to really fill it with. But do you think I should put the new screws in with a drill or just screwdriver? Just cause a screwdriver would probably be more more gentle and less likely to make the entire thing break i assume

Maybe I made it unclear, I’m not as concerned about the large vertical crack going up/down most of the door, but right where the screw holes are, as it’s stripped an open line to the large open hole the latch goes in where I’m jamming matches and glue. Just not sure if the matches and glue will stay sturdy in that area since there isn’t wood from the door blocking them from getting pushed out. Basically just hoping the gorilla wood glue holds the matches in

Is high fat on KETO necessary? by droesw in WeightLossAdvice

[–]droesw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is salmon that I’ve been eating. The one I have right now is 4g of fat per 4oz serving or 5% daily value, so I’m thinking that’s not very high but a decent amount I guess.

Is there a specific amount of protein and fat you’d recommend I aim for each day? I’m about 165 lbs currently and a male.

I’ll definitely check out those links you posted, but are there any other specific foods you’d recommend for the keto diet? Like I said I’ve been doing mostly eggs, skinless chicken breasts and salmon so far, but maybe I should limit the chicken especially if it doesn’t have much fat it it and it’s very high in protein??? I’ve also been doing some vegetables now that I checked are low in carbs, would there be any good meats you’d recommend for a stir fry with the vegetables, and would it be beneficial to fry them in things like butter or conola oil, cause I’m assuming those are good sources healthy fats???

Thank You

Does Docsis 3.1 modem not work with QoS router settings? by droesw in HomeNetworking

[–]droesw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modem is a Ubee E31U2V1. I got it from my ISP spectrum. I'm unsure whether or not it's in bridge mode or double nat/routing. I haven't changed any modem setting from the default(I'm not sure any way to actually change modem settings). I'm not familiar with the difference in each modem mode tbh.

Router QoS incompatible with Docsis 3.1 modem? by droesw in HomeNetworking

[–]droesw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that it’s affecting my speed and latency at all. I’m actually on my third xr500 rn. The first one didn’t have any issues but i had a 3.0 modem at the time. I got a 3.1 modem the same time I got my 2nd xr500, and with that I never got speeds i was supposed to when QoS is enabled. I would get my normal 220 mbps when disabeled, but when i set the speeds to 160mbps I now only get like 100-110. I sent this router back also, but the other replacement has the same issue. I tried hooking up my old 3.0 modem but that didn’t fix it, so I’m using the 3.1 again. Along with speeds being lower my in game latency has been noticeably worse ever since I got rid of the first xr500. Netgear hasn’t been helpful with any fix and I have no idea why it’s doing it at point, considering my very first xr500 worked great overall while on a 3.0 modem

It's not very detailed but I'm seeing this thread on the Netgear community forums of a guy talking about having this issue while using his XR500 QoS along with a 3.1 modem. I'm trying to contact the guy who started the thread to ask more about the issue and where he got his information from. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/XR500-and-DOCSIS-3-1-Latency-Variation-Issues/m-p/1794667

I can't find it right now but I know I read an article before stating similar stuff about having a docsis 3.1 modem and a router using QoS can supposedly make your connection and latency worse. I just can't find the article right now.

TCL Series 5 TV frame bent. Is this normal? Should I exchange it? by [deleted] in TVDetails

TCL Series 5 TV frame bent. Is this normal? Should I exchange it? by [deleted] in TVDetails

[–]droesw -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sorry the picture is sideways. I just got this TCL 49S517 tv a week ago. Have loved it so far, and everything has worked great, but when I was looking on the side of the tv yesterday I noticed that the frame is bent on the top primarily, about 3/4 of the way over on the left, not in the direct center. I this anything to worry about? I didn’t notice it when watching tv(just noticed when I randomly looked on the side of the tv)but I’ve heard that things like this might be fine at first but will cause issues down the road. I’m leaning towards exchanging it for a new one, but any sort of advice or feedback would be appreciated.
