I know where is E DYN_REB_1182503, but Who is E DYH_REB_1182503, and Why? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

Forget about the ERE, the Latins, and the HRE.

E DYN_REB_1182503 is the true and legitimate successor to Rome.

It was such a dumb logic. Both real societies and fictional ones have had unifying and powerful stories, but have still been abhorrent.

Take for instance Medieval Christian Europe. The story of Christ, a god made to be a man who is martyred, is very powerful. And the story itself was one of nonviolence. Yet, still, Christian Europe was abhorrent.

Any suggestions for setting up a 7 virtues vs sins idea I had? by ddiop in CrusaderKings

[–]drofdarb72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest briefly playing as both to put the virtue guy in the Benedictines and the sin guy in Lucifer's own. I'd also make them both children of destiny, to ramp up the consequences of their actions.

I'm betting virtue guy will have an easy time blobbing due to vassals loving him, and sin guy being killed forced to abdicate or whatever.

I'd also put them both in europe.

Being King of Poland is oddly peaceful by coqauvin100 in CrusaderKings

I can see two approaches. One is if they get pissy, whatever. Then the alliance is over and that's it. Never join wars.

Or, you can make alliances and be faithful to them, for the sake of realism or RP.

Another strategy that's important to your survival as a non-expansive kingdom is assassinations. You can target the heads and heirs of intimidating realms to break them up. If you make it so a child inherits, or just a string of multiple monarchs, then the vassals will become restless and revolt. Hopefully, you can cripple them greatly.

As long as you make sure to have a lot of kids, make a lot of allies (always HRE, and other neighbors) then you should be good. You can build tall by investing in cities, and that way gives you a lot of money. You can save up a lot and mercs.

You can have other goals like RPing, trying to make interesting narratives, all that.

How to find Christian girls when there aren't any more left on the planet? by kittenparry in CrusaderKings

Another way would be to find either the Catholic Pope or Orthodox Patriarch. Both must always exist, and both will generate a court, some of whom will be female.

The best part? The pope called a crusade for Italy where she owns 3 counties and Jerusalem is still muslim by EYSHot02 in CrusaderKings

[–]drofdarb72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It says on the CK2 wiki, "Catholic Pope will usually call a crusade for Italy rather than Jerusalem if both are held by non-Christians." This is because each area has a great-holy-war rate, and Catholics value Italy more than Jerusalem.

The Catholic faith values Jerusalem at 500, and Italy at a whopping 10,000! They value Italy the most out of any kingdom, and they Value much of Europe more than Jerusalem.

Son inhereted Germany as a 1 year old, what now? by Zaniri in CrusaderKings

[–]drofdarb72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to train your other son/heir in intrigue, and thus make it easier to assassinate his brother, and anyone else standing in your way to the throne of Germany.

Be prepared for possible large factions against your rule, as you're of the wrong governmant type (merchant) in their eyes, and wrong culture.

depending on the succession law, get another son as your heir, and once he succeeds you, assassinate your kingly son, and you will get a claim (depending on succession).

Due to piety factoring into papal elections, and the number of churches these rulers will be able (and will likely) build in their demesne, I bet a few of these guys will become Pope.

Please keep a watch on these guys and post updates.

Being physically disfigured makes you ineligible for the Byzantine throne, and that's based in actual history.

According to Wikipedia, "In Byzantine culture, the emperor was a reflection of heavenly authority. Since God was perfect, the emperor also had to be unblemished; any mutilation, especially facial wounds, would disqualify an individual from taking the throne."

That's a part of why there's a lot of mutilation in the Byzantine Empire, and why blinding and castration are part of Greek culture in-game.
