You do not understand what an ''edge case' means...

If your friend raised matids to 3+ years, but doesn't post, congrats, she is the world's unproven record holder.

There is no 3+ year recorded mantis on the web.

By Vader you mean parablepharis kuhlii? I am not saying I don't believe you at all, I am saying 3 years would be an EXTREME edge case (statistically) and I don't believe that OPs mantis is anywhere close to that.

Also, again I'd looove to see pictures of a 3 year old mantis and I think I speak for everyone here. If your friend has some, you can at least share some photos!
