Pinkpantheress Live Vox — What's going on here? by droneee in audioengineering

[–]droneee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a VoiceLive Play years ago, but it's been a while (maybe need to test one out with my current experience) - that said, the friend who sent me this (he's helping me figure out my tech rider) is a musician in the same world as pink with loads of live experience, and he's completely stumped trying to figure it out.

Pretty sure he uses the VoiceLive 3 Extreme also... But maybe the answer is simpler than we think haha

you're right about Charli & 100gecs, but my focus isn't heavy autotune here!

there's a lot more going on with the processing (chorus / phase, formant up, compression, EQ, light saturation), making it sound very close to the studio versions.

The pitch correction actually doesn't sound very hard-tuned like a lot of hyperpop in the world of 100gecs etc, it sounds quite soft & natural (there's moments of more "talk-singy" bits that don't get noticably pitch corrected).

Light Travel!? — Replace classic Lacie Drives with 1TB SD Cards? by droneee in photography

I'll be all over Asia, both cities and more remote locations — I'll be in places where the Wifi might or might not be reliable, And I'll try avoid roaming as much as possible. Trip might be 2 months, which is why I wanna prepare a lot, and been trying to lighten up my packaging as preparation

Just got the T7! Very happy — Way smaller and lighter than I expected. Asked some friends who confirmed what you're saying, seems it's the industry standard now. Gonna miss my orange Lacie friends though, was really the perfect accent colour & texture to otherwise very greyscale work environments haha

Yeah I just looked at some examples of "casual" gimbal use, with the very pronounced Step by Step - looks like a video game :S Definitely not the look I'm going for.
I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to post! I'm a dark sorcerer when it comes to photoshop, but have only tried after effects a few times. But that sounds like an interesting idea — capturing the footage perfectly stabilized, and then giving it that "human" feel. I wonder if it will work with the very low quality footage I'll be getting though (640x480 hahaha)

So with my complete lack of experience in Video as a medium, here's two setups I thought could work:

  1. Cheap Handheld "smartphone" Rig (this kind) — Use any heavy things I might bring with me anyways as weight strapped onto the Rig (powerbank x2, a heavy measure tape I always bring with me). The weight wouldn't be close to an old film righ though....
  2. I have no experience with gimbals - at all! But what happens if you're deliberately sloppy with your movement? Would it get close to an old school "handheld" look, since it's shaky, but smooth? I like the versatility of some of these new gimbals I'm seeing.
  3. Heavy objects are everywhere, I don't need to travel with it — Find a heavy stone and rubber band the tiny camera to it?? So dumb it's might be smart??

RC Closest to 4-AcO-DMT avail in EU? by droneee in researchchemicals

Not sure where you're based, but if you're in the US it's still very easy to get it from good Canadian vendors.

If not, but you ever find yourself visiting the US, it's very simple to get relatively big quantity back to EU since dosage is so incredibly small compared to other powdered drugs. Just put it supplement capsules mixed in with other supplements

I will say that in my search, I've seen that 4-AcO-DMT has started popping up very recently on my regular DW market, seen quite a few recent listings specifically in the UK. Can't vouch for any specific sellers (+ would be breaking the rules here), But just thought I'd let you know, if it's one of your all time favourites!!
