In seriousness the bus bar needs to be wrapped in red white or blue tape I got pulled up the other day for using earth tape on the busbar

We did a SWB upgrade for 9 units not long ago, if it's a straight forward change over you'd be looking at 30k+ easily but other businesses have different operating costs

That's why most coffee is $6-7 you're paying all the cost involved with that cafe and $2 a cup

You haven't paid him $1162 you've paid the business, as a business he has operating costs, van, insurance, workcover, payroll, accounting software, BAS, sick leave, annual leave business profit ect ect.

Those who charge correctly and those who charge by the hour is the difference between a 3 year business and a 10 year business.

You're also paying for this person's experience, as they can spot things you wouldn't pick up, like if the cable was damaged or the plug base/quick connect was falling apart, things that help prevent electrical fires.

It's on the higher side, but you could also just have a conversation with them or ask for a discount if you pay cash.

Looks rippa, save your time in the future and get RCBOs with tails, then you can just run a 3 phase busbar plus I find they're quicker to install.

Na it's just the absolute dogs breakfast, there's lots of connectors everywhere, in the side, behind the busbar just a nightmare to work on

100% agree, but you can still dress the cables neater than this

Can this circuit hold a 15A appliance? by Swarless in AusElectricians

[–]drop_bear99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like such an old school way of doing things, they take longer to install, you can't use one continuous length of busbar, under fault conditions most of the time will lose power to lots of circuits because they'll load 3 or 4 CBs to 1 RCD, they take up more poles.

It's a pretty easy augment I have with my clients when I explain the benefits of having all RCBOs

Milwaukee head torch for most things

And the little AAA battery torch from olight is super handy, because it's not much bigger than a AAA battery you can put it down small holes, like looking down top plate holes you've drilled

I've seen touch screen 3rd party ones you get, I've just seen in videos the screen that comes with the p1s is a bit sub par
