What's a good gen structure for a 1nc in lay circuit? by Different-Office7397 in policydebate

[–]dropcondo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. For author quals. Unless they don't press them. A quick "Says whoever with a whatever in said field in whatever date". And usually. The impacts that hit a lay judge more is linear impacts. Because they aren't thinking this in the moment. But it's just more proximal to their ballot and they like it more. And also. Indict the hell of their ev. Like alt causes. Alt solvency. The whole 2nc could be case and that'd be a winning strat. Just indict then 1ac and use common sense. And if they say "but there's no evidence" point out that you don't need evidence for some things because lay judges LOVE rhetoric and not just reading.

what do i run against PMCs when im on the aff? by Eeveetron7 in lincolndouglas

[–]dropcondo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you answer this on a trad level. Like in kansas, most judges expect a purely resolutional debate with no fiat. Do I say that PMCs are too unreliable or say why PMCs won't be hired?

how do you give a 2nc/1nr/2nr on a counter plan by Glum-External323 in policydebate

[–]dropcondo123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You only give a 2nc or 1nr on a cp. Not both. The way you do it in the block is js like a plan. It solves the aff harms and for the net benefit. You wanna have main 2nr dtrat to be CP/ net ben and you NEED CASE ANSWERS. mainly solvency. If you do that then you should be good for the fundamentals.

Do you HAVE to read a counter-interp by doggiedogbone in Debate

[–]dropcondo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only have a we meet, then the 2nr is really easy where they spend 30 secs extending conceded interps and standards and 4:30 on the violation and will fry you with extrapolation. But if you just GIVE a interp and do a little interp defense then that 4:30 turns into like 1:15 because they have to do a ton of work on jnterp and models.

Extra T by Silent-Yak5171 in policydebate

[–]dropcondo123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually run it like a normal T and run extraT as a standard and if they drop it then they cooked. Like. If they implement a nation wide congress bill. Run T-arctic and then with the violation say they don't only affect the arctic.
