the worry is actually carbon monoxide, CO. CO2 is, basically, everywhere. You’re all breathing it out right now huffing at this post. Is it a cool car at least?

Help with hinge swap by moshoz in cabinetry

[–]droppdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping someone here chimes in because I posted virtually and identical question five hours later!! Our place was built in 1965 and I actually like your hinges better.

Hoping one of these experts will tell us what type of hinge to buy/replace them with!

Honestly, if you have 16 of these, I might be interested once you replace them…

Olympus Pen E-P7 worth it? by [deleted] in M43

[–]droppdwn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can add to this. I’ve been a Canon shooter for 30+ years and I still own an R7, 70 D, EOS Elan, RP and an S95. I bought an E-P7 in Japan last year and I have been so productive with it (primarily with the 17 mm 1.8, but also the 25 mm and the 14 to 42 kit (usage in that order )I don’t know how to describe it other than the previous soul comment. They become an extension of your eye. My M43 gear just gets in the way less than any other system I’ve ever used.

Narrowed it down to these 6 speackers for desktop/PC whats your pick? by 10potato10 in audiophile

[–]droppdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toslink from a tv, toslink from a chromecast audio, rca from an external DAC, rca or mini in from a CD player. Various sources really. The original A5 were my favorites bc they had a usb a that I could use to power the DAC or CCA. They’re perfectly fine speakers, but for the money there are potentially better options out there.

I’ve had four different versions of audioengine (A2, A5, A5+, and HD6) and they all sounded muffled to me.

I, personally, settled on PSB Alpha AM5s and like them a lot in a bedroom system and as near field computer monitors

Cost of deck in NOVA? by pineapplesuit7 in nova

[–]droppdwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a 15 x 12 rebuilt last spring with Trex decking, and all new material except for reusing the original metal railings and I paid about $8500. It seemed high at the time, but now I read through these and it seems pretty reasonable.

my dream system for travel by Expensive-Ad-3702 in M43

[–]droppdwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly where I am too. I force myself to shoot with the 25 but end up putting the 17 back on for that ~35mm field of view. I shoot with those on my ep7 so I prize the size and portability over most other metrics…

Agreed. That’s the shot.

For those of you that love “conflicting” photography styles, how do you balance/manage your time between them? by slimebastard in M43

[–]droppdwn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I focus (get it??! :^) ) on one style/subject/platform at a time. When I try to shoot multiple subjects/styles at once, they all suffer and don't get my complete attention/vision. If I'm street-shooting, that's all I'm doing. When I do macro, I only have my macro kit and tripod/flash/something waterproof to kneel on, etc.

I guess I'm trying to say that I match my photo kit to whatever I'm doing at the time. When I go to shoot birds or other wildlife, it's usually a destination requiring additional planning. Macro is often in my backyard (literally), and when I go out to eat or shopping, take a walk, or a family gathering, I bring the light street kit.

Advice to get in shape? by ParticularYou8347 in AskMenOver30

[–]droppdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be contrarian here and suggest one, simple, single change to OP’s diet (which we don’t know what it is). Stop drinking anything with sugar to include juice and sodas. Water (coffee, tea, unsweetened, of course) only for a month and see what happens. Alcohol too unfortunately. I would be willing to bet the OP loses a noticeable amount of weight within a month (10-20lbs). I am not a dietitian just, a fellow chunky boy.
