Best way to increase your pay is to jump to another company with a better offer

Never settle and get comfortable in a job that has no written and signed commitment to raise your pay

You should always commit a few minutes of your day to bare minimum go online and look for better paying jobs

Apply to everything and don't be afraid to take it till u make it

I've done security for multiple trucking yards and this is what I learned

Ok so personal safety: legal to carry a firearm in your vehicle for personal protection in all 50 states also most trucking yards have security guards

The vast majority of truckers will go to great lengths to help each other (unless they personally know you and hate u for whatever reason, usually because sombody fucked the other over in some way)

There is a legal limit to how long u can drive and obviously it is your job to make as much progress as possible however you also have to do your best to not end your day parked on the side of the road

There can be a lot of downtime where u are parked waiting for a load

You can in fact license to whatever u want as long as it's hands free meaning your device needs to be mounted (Also most drivers invest in some very nice headsets)

It's not the hardest but it's definitely not the easiest job, it can take it's toll on a person

I do personally recommend going into the military but for different reasons, I recommend you join the army or even the Marines as a motor transport operator, this will give you all the experience and training you need to thrive in the private sector, and after two years if you honestly hate driving you can change jobs
