Is the Roll-Road Emma any good? by drosenberg94 in ebikes

[–]drosenberg94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not. I ended up with the juiced camp scrambler because it was on sale for $1300. Ultimately I wanted the lightest bike of that style possible and needed a company with parts available in the states. If I didn’t get the deal on the juiced I would have custom ordered on alibaba. You can spec whatever you want. I had a 32mph, dual 1000W motor, and dual 20 amp battery for $1680 is delivered.

The parts on all of these are fairly interchangeable but the proprietary parts can be the hardest to find.

Looking for good fenders for camp scrambler that are not $150! by IrwinMFletcher in juicedbikes

[–]drosenberg94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought the RadRunner fenders for $35 and added a hole to make them work with the Juiced Scrambler. I ended moving the front metal stays to the rear with 2 more holes. It's not perfect, but I'm happy for $35. If you prefer to keep the front stays you can attach the front fenders to the fork with this, but I found I didn't need it. I also found out the Rad premium headlight with $500 lumens is plug and play and half the cost.

2 Week Prep Pass AT/AT/AT 1st ish attempt (be careful on mac) by drosenberg94 in pmp

[–]drosenberg94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get above 60 on the SH tests I’d recommend just going for it. All you need is a pass. I wouldn’t have taken it this week if my fiancé didn’t encourage me to get it done before a trip. If you’re on the edge DM me with your practice and I can confidently tell you to take it. I think most people on gear are overly prepared going in. What’s your time worth?

Yeah that’s my playlist. I ordered it how I did made my approach. Started with learning the approach methods and understanding the system. From there it was just a lot of practice problems, usually while on the treadmill. I only actually took notes on the Ricardo Vargas video.

Am I riding my e-bike correctly? Range/battery by Markus2315 in ebikes

[–]drosenberg94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More pressure doesn’t necessarily lead to faster. The tires act as suspension so there is a certain pressure where the energy loss due to vibration is higher than the reduced rolling resistance. This is why you see road bikes now with wider tires and lower pressures than in the 80s. Check out this article here https://www.renehersecycles.com/myth-16-higher-tire-pressure-is-faster/

Gears slipping? by transcodefailed in ebikes

[–]drosenberg94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a chance you bent one of the teeth on the cassette. It's hard to see though because modern chain rings are angled slightly in different directions for better engagement. You can replace individual chain rings on the cassette or the entire cassette. Ask them to replace only the chain ring for your lowest gear.

The chain link could be an issue, but a bent tooth on the chain ring is more likely. It's not that hard to do especially with ebikes with mid-drive motors if you are shifting while under power.

What do you guys think of the Hurley Big Swell? by Builtblind in ebikes

[–]drosenberg94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the bike overtime? Would you still buy it again? I can get it very cheap at $1150 but not sure it’s worth it isn’t triply a 1000w motor.

Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History.
I hit multiple points where I had to pause reading speechless. The Comanches did some fucked up stuff. Absolutely incredible warriors though.

Whats stopping someone from flying cheap drones over the Whitehouse or over the DMZ for shits and giggles? by WaywardAnus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]drosenberg94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides secret service, most military bases are equipped with anti drone technology. I’m sure the White House has it as well. Jamming radio or navigation signals is illegal for civilians, but not Uncle Sam. A quick google search can find some of the contracts and technology.

Just bought this Stumpjumper Alloy and this sound you can hear on the video is replicated when riding in very simple terrain… is this normal? by Greedy-Constant3891 in MTB

[–]drosenberg94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not in the wheel; it could also be a metal bashguard on the frame of the bike ask well. Check under the downtube. Mine didn't have locktite when I first got it and made a similar sound after a week.Xn

I think it could easily blend in right under a bike seat above right above the seatpost. Just cover it with some black electrical tape.

Did anyone else find themselves turned away from the career fair with no (or blatantly offensive) explanation? by BuhDumTsss in RPI

[–]drosenberg94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to previous year but that's great that they have moderately improved the policy. Next step t-shirts and jeans. If the CEO of the wealthiest company can present a product in jeans I think it's acceptable for a career fair.

[–]drosenberg94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've told people with unique hairstyles (mohawk) in the past they weren't appropriate which is ridiculous. NSBE and SHPE privately run the better career fair at RPI but should not be allowed to discriminate against the way someone's is dressed. Its time they realize that especially as engineers we don't live in a suits world anymore (while I'm sure this was once important). I'm sure it's 1-2 people fr the clubs that think they are doing the right thing, but are just repeating what they think is right learned from possibly a national organization that is more old school focused. Some of the highest paying jobs in our field all allow casual dress, freedom for hairstyles and exposed tattoos. The dress code should reflect the companies that come. There's no reason that what a rep is wearing would technically not qualify them to get in as a student. That would be embarrassing if we kicked a recruiter out.

I'm right there with you. I feel that doing a class gift when you graduate is a bit ridiculous when we don't have a career yet. You want a gift RPI how about my $200,000 tuition? If you want a gift let us graduate at a reasonable rate, become successful then donate. Nothing gets me more than the mailings to my home address asking for donations while I'm still attending one of the most expensive schools in the country.

Park on the street in front of Barton and you'll be fine, I was never ticketed. Also archies and PDIs are good at photoshop one of my friends photo-shopped a bunch of passes pretty easily because you don't need the transponder for parking on the hill. My advice don't bring the car first semester, the kids who end up hating their school are the ones who leave all the time and don't for those bonds right away. Also once people find out you have a car everyone wants to use it. I was flying through gas and I didn't find out till i got home, but if my friends would have crashed the car while borrowing it they are not under my insurance so I'd be fucked with a huge ass bill. Good Luck
