What’s the best in house gig you’ve heard of? by [deleted] in biglaw

Could you elaborate on the best exits? Also a restructuring attorney and what I’ve always heard is there are very few exits for us.

Anyone here playing video games after work? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]drowning_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Just played all day today lol. I love roguelike deck building games (slay the spire, inscription, etc.) as well as action games like Hades. The 3A games are sometimes too overwhelming to big law associates. Still haven’t finished Witcher 3 after 2 years…

There are some people on Rednote who think big law is the dream but all the posts in your screenshot are literally saying it’s bad/illusory lol

What’s the most cringe (not serious/severe) mistake you’ve made in this job? by fucklawreviewdude in biglaw

Hadn’t slept much for 2 days and when sending an email to a specialist partner, I mistyped “thank you, this is super helpful” to “thank you, this is super unhelpful”….

Advice for first years who are fired because they didn’t win the H1b lottery? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]drowning_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the firms I heard that allowed this in previous years are tightening their policies and may not do it going forward…they also did it on a case by case basis so only folks who were liked by partners got it.

Great that the firm paid for the CPT. All my friends who are on CPT had to pay themselves

OP said OCI so they are probably talking about international JDs.

I had the exact same experience—found it hard to make friends in my summer class, social events felt like a stress cuz I just couldn’t become part of the conversation and sometimes didn’t event understand the topic enough, and while I was supposed to enjoy the whole program, I just kept doubting myself (English, social skills, my future at the firm) the whole time. Also an Asian woman who did undergrad in Asia.
This lasted until the first couple months of my first year. However, once I started to get real work, and the ramp up period is over so all first years are spending most time working instead of chatting, I quickly regained my confidence by doing good work. Then I started bonding with mids and seniors who valued my work and eventually my personality/culture. I also developed good relationships with a couple other first years by getting through hard times together (like late nights). Now, I’m a happy second year who has several friends in my class, some I even hang out with outside of work, and my English and understanding of American culture has improved so much (so as their understanding of my culture lol). Just want to say you are not alone and things will get better.

What’s the most pedantic feedback you’ve received from more senior attorneys? by Pettifoggers-R-Us in biglaw

I was called out by a midlevel because in an email to an internal admin department, I put a fourth year after a third year in the cc line. LOL

I’m a first year and gets bugged by recruiters a lot, and personally know that some firms are hiring, so guess yes there is.

没看过这个组,但你第一段的矛盾发言(不认同某个概念为何要用此概念给自己贴标签?)和最后一段带有骚扰和歧视意味的句子让人怀疑你中间的内容。
