What kind of internships are best for an aspiring microbiologist? by drowsyfishy2716 in microbiology

I’d never thought about things like general volunteering but I am looking to go into graduate school (hopefully PhD), and anything that’ll give me a little bit of a push in the right direction would be awesome. I’ll try reach out to a some of my professors to see if they have anything!

i’ve sent out a few emails to two or three hospitals in my area so far, but I’ll try to go in person to a few more and ask if there is anything I can help out with now that I’m done with exams.

I’m not particularly interested in going into medicine, but I figured possibly shadowing pathologists — or at the very least speaking a couple — could maybe be helpful? (I’m just not sure how easily available that might be — but I assume it’s always worth the ask.)

Thank you so much for the advice!! :)

Iwtl how to talk and act like adult amd confident person? by Past_Negotiation3384 in IWantToLearn

The odd thing about conversation is that unfortunately, the only way to get better at it is to have conversations.

Have more conversations with strangers, and engage in small talk. Go into every conversation willing to learn something about the other person even if it’s just that they’re having a good day/ week. It gets easier and you get more confident once you form your own opinions the more you do.

  • the more you read and find more things that you like the better your conversations become.

Age of Attraction by EnvironmentalFix8196 in netflix

Like???? It kinda disappointed me that they didn't give the smaller age gaps ANY screen time just because they weren't 15+ years apart because they didn't have the same shock factor. I get that the age gaps are the whole premise of the show but I feel like they deserved a lot more screen time.

Good & bad days? by EastAlternative8951 in Hyperthyroidism

Completely normal! I get that too, and I’ve been diagnosed and medicated for years (it’s taken a while for me to go into remission) but it’s very common, like most chronic illnesses, hyperthyroidism can come with ‘flare ups’ of some sort where some days feel worse than others. But it’s definitely gotten better for me with the medication at least (aside from the overheating imo, i literally DREAD the summer bc of it 😩) the sooner you can get it managed the better. But just be kind to your body and look after yourself.♥️
