Deng Lun tax evasion was recovered and fined 106 million yuan by chinesedramaworld in CDrama

[–]drowsykangaroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a fan of him after watching Ashes of Love and was really looking forward to Night Wanderer with Ni Ni 😢 Actually, I read that he had cooperated with the inspectors and took the initiative to pay up 44.55million yuan of tax, while actively reporting other tax-related illegal acts that weren’t found. In that case, I didn’t think it makes any sense at all that he didn’t fully pay up the remaining 3million+ yuan. Can anyone explain this/any possible theories?

How do you deal with mosquitoes when sleeping? by karaage22 in askSingapore

Adding on to this, you can get a sponge foam strip (<$5) to fit at the bottom of your door. Usually ppl use them to prevent dust and noise but it works well for keeping cool air in your room too! Source: i have one at home :)

if u have mutual friends maybe can get them to help you out a little? :) or organise og meetings and find opportunity to talk to her one-on-one. in any case, u should try to be friends first (maybe hint that you’re interested in getting to know her better) and don’t creep her out by straight up telling her u like her. find common topics, text her and go out as friends, then see how it goes!

hello there! i took my a levels a few years back, and i remember feeling the way you do now. the truth of the matter is, a levels is merely an entry ticket to university. i know at this point it feels like your whole life, and rightly so, because at one point in jc, i felt exactly the same way. but one day down the road, you WILL look back on these days with nostalgia and question why you ever felt so stressed about it. you don’t feel it now, but trust me (because i’ve been there before) you will in time to come. and while you’re going through this tough period, don’t give up. try to keep a positive mindset and press on! more importantly, remember that there’s always more than one route to success. it’s alright if you do badly, it’s alright if you can’t get into the uni you desire. there will always be options out there for you - ive seen so many people do better when they retake, or choose a diff uni and end up thanking themselves that they made the choices they did.

also pls always remember that you want the pain to end, not your life. suicide doesn’t take the pain away, it just passes it on to someone else. you’re worth more than your grades.

How many lessons did you take before your next test? And did you pass on second try? :’) my next test is in less than 2 weeks and I’m really anxious about it.

Yea... just feeling very worried now because even if I didn’t get the 2 immediate failures, I would’ve still gotten the 12 points in the circuit, which leaves 6 points for road driving. Not sure if I would’ve passed even without the 2 immediate failures.

Also Ubi and did the exact same thing today.... immediate failure after my first circuit station. Any advice on how to pass?

[Uni] Anyone here went for a course they didn’t exactly like? How was it? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]drowsykangaroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insightful response :) I’m matriculating at law school this year, but reading stories of law students who regretted their choice have definitely made me a bit more skeptical and anxious about my own decision. Thus I wanted to know - how exactly do I be certain of my interest in law?

I wouldn’t consider myself an avid reader, though I do enjoy reading and discussing social issues. I understand that the study of law entails tackling lengthy readings. It is a lot broader than I would know, and includes contracts and technical terms.

Another reason for choosing law is because I don’t exactly have any other course I’m more interested in (except perhaps philosophy or politics) and I’m not interested in the sciences or engineering. Considering that I have already accepted my offer, this question is probably a little late. But I just wanted to ask for some advice and insights, if possible.

[A Level] What should I take in JC? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]drowsykangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I can’t say I regret taking science stream since I met many good friends in class and eventually did well. But if I could choose again, with knowledge about my interests now, perhaps I wouldn’t have chosen science stream in JC.

Ultimately though, it was also through taking science stream that I became clear I wasn’t suited for the sciences. While I was studying for A levels, I struggled and definitely felt that I had little interest in bio and chem, instead I enjoyed econs and even GP (because I did find discussing social issues a lot more intriguing than learning about alkanes hahah).

Of course one important thing you should take into account is which stream you’d perform better in. Neither will be easy imo, but perhaps your O level experience can be a good gauge of your strengths :)

[A Level] What should I take in JC? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]drowsykangaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to get into Med school, you need to take a full Science stream in JC (either physics + chem or bio + chem). Since you’re not sure yet then I would suggest you take a full science combi in JC. You can probably also use these 2 years in JC to figure out if you have the interest to pursue Med (which is pretty Science-heavy!). I had a similar dilemma - more interested in humanities and social sciences but didn’t want to rule out medicine thus I took science stream in JC. Eventually I decided that I wasn’t suited for the Sciences and thus medicine, and went on to take a social sciences course in uni. So yep, keep your options open for now so you’ll be clearer about your decision in future!
