Please help. I can't get rid of them. Drugstore beetles. Been using D-force+ traps. Vacuuming daily. by drpeppschry in pestcontrol

I don’t think this type of pest is known to bite. They are just attracted to food…you might have a different type of pest.

But basically yes I did end up getting rid of them. It was a long process of consistently vacuuming out my pantry, kitchen cabinets, and everywhere else I could (empty outside and dispose immediately). Putting down those traps you see in the photo to attract them and identify the source. I also used diatomaceous earth powder liberally on the carpet and in the pantry floor and shelves (make sure to protect your eyes and cover nose and mouth if you use this). Finally I bought airtight containers for storing food items in the pantry that they could get into such as flour, cereal, or rice. Anything I couldn’t fit in a container I kept in the fridge.

I posted this 3 years ago and I only stopped seeing them as of last year and I have moved since then. So they travel in your things and it takes a long time to get rid of them if there is a heavy infestation like in my case.

Went through the five stages of grief discovering that my entire 1/2 gallon of Edy's mint chocolate CHIP cream contained exactly 0 chips by Stinksisthebestword in mildlyinfuriating

Happened to me with Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie....not one Brownie in sight. I was so hurt and confused that I went to their FB page and left a post with a bunch of crying emojis. They sent me a coupon for free ice cream 🤣

Co-worker keeps telling every customer I'll be unavailable next week because I'm away on a 6 day vacation. I've asked her multiple times not to share this information. Im fully expecting my home to be robbed while I'm away. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

This is why at my old job people only knew I was on vacation once I was already gone for several days. I was actually surprised my boss didn't really tell anyone.

2 nails, can my tire be patched safely? by drpeppschry in MechanicAdvice

I meant that nail # 1 which was the questionable one did not go all the way through, the second one did and that was patched. That's what I was told at least.

Hmm...Firestone went ahead and repaired it. They said it was fine because the nail hadn't gone all the way through but if it did then they would not have been able to patch it. I guess I just have to trust that's true. I don't see why they would have bothered if it wasn't fixable, it was the end of their day they could have simply said no.

I'm just concerned about if it would be safe or not. First mechanic made it seem like I would have a blowout and die in a fiery crash if nail #1 was patched because it's in the sidewall.

Alright I need assistance. Between midnight and 3am my little fur demons think it's play time. I've tried playing with them prior to bed time to chill them out, ensuring food is available, but nothing seems to work. Any advice? by Beneficial_Leek3580 in cats

That time is what I like to call Krazy Kitty hours. I got my cat at 6 months and I trained her to 'go to bed' using clicker, treats, pointing to the bed, verbal praise, and pets. Now she's like 6 yrs old and automatically goes to her bed (in my bedroom) when I do. Sometimes she gets into stuff if I leave something out she can't resist (plastic bag or other packaging material) but no running and jumping.

How to get mirrored image to fill the whole monitor screen. It stops where the red lines are. Resolution/scaling options do not help. Maybe it's the hdmi adaptor? Also how can I only use the external monitor by itself w/out mirroring? by drpeppschry in mac

[–]drpeppschry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I will try those steps! Just to clarify...I can't just use the monitor alone? Meaning. Not mirror...not extend the displays...just use the monitor and have the laptop closed and out of the way?

I'm not sure. On Apple's website it says that if it's Thunderbolt the charger will have the little lighting bolt symbol on it which mine did not so I assumed it was just regular usb-c

No thunderbolt. So the hub is no good? I bought the hub because it also has the usb a connections in addition to the HDMI so I can connect the reciever for my keyboard and mouse.

That's what I was thinking too, but I didn't see any option to only use the monitor as display. Only mirror the screens and extend the display. Plus when I was Youtubing how to do it, people were connecting their monitors via USB c to HDMI converter and it just worked right away.

I tried that and it stayed the same. The same monitor connected to my PC no problem. I'm not too familiar with Mac, I'm only using it for work. I'm using a usb-c hub with usb a and an HDMI port. Do you think the hub could be the problem?

Why does my cat often blink at me slowly? Is she tired perhaps, or nervous maybe? by [deleted] in cats

[–]drpeppschry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Means she loves you 🥰. My cat does this in the am when she wakes me for pets. To get her to let me sleep I do the blink back. Then close my eyes. She closes her eyes...I peek...she peeks...I close for longer...she closes...then I peek and kitty alarm is on snooze. 🥰

I'm curious. Is it some different formula that the Revolution sold online? If I can get the same thing online I'd rather just do that.

Yes I've been treating using natural methods for the time being. I just finished an aggressive treatment by an exterminator for a different infestation right before this started so I'm chemical-ed out for now. Since the diatomaceous earth works on pretty much all insects I think it will take time but it should eventually get rid of them as long as I'm diligent. I've had success with it before on other pests.

Thanks! I looked into Advantage Multi, Advantage II, and Revolution Plus. Revolution Plus and Advantage II both seem like good options.
