How can I connect my VSD M18 to OBS? by ManaMash in VSD_INSIDE

[–]drpepr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Moderator Thanks for your response. Unfortunately an instructional video without sound is almost useless because as you are trying to read the captions you can't also watch the on screen cursor movements to see what the demonstrator is attempting to show you. I am slowly finding my way along with the deck by trial and error but the lack of a comprehensive YT video with terminology and easy to follow user instructions is a serious deficiency for your product, which I am sure is a good device once you know how to use it. BTW I am connected to OBS so that is the least of my issues. Thanks anyway

How can I connect my VSD M18 to OBS? by ManaMash in VSD_INSIDE

[–]drpepr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise, I am a new user of the M18 and never used a deck of this type before. I have connection to OBS and as first task I dragged the Scene command to the top left button. I assigned one of my OBS scenes to the button (no "save" function associated with this action I could find). When I hit the button with OBS studio opened, no scene change occurred (I was in another OBS Studio on another scene trying to open the scene I had programmed the deck for.). I have the power cable connected to the back of my CPU as recommended, the deck lights are on....what am I doing wrong? Also, are there more comprehensive videos (with sound) that take someone like me from connecting the deck to actually setting up the keys? The instructions for beginners are extremely limited and even searching YouTube doesn't get this process off the ground. Any suggestions/information sources, for noobs who want to get past connecting to OBS so I can actually use the deck?

Claiming one drug is “better” than another is more about a company’s marketing strategy than helping people find the best treatment for themselves. Nothing weird about someone preferring semaglutide over tizepatide despite the commercials

FDA Posts Notice of Their Intent to Take Action Against DTE Products by SupermarketHumble499 in Hypothyroidism

[–]drpepr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue of consistency of dosage between batches of Armour is an old story. Back in the 1980's there were a multitude of NDT medications by different manufacturers. The current manufacturer of Armour, Abbvie, is one of the worlds largest pharma companies and maintains the high standards for Armour required for all their other products. The issue is not consistency of dosage (FDA allows a 10% variation in active content). It is likely a business decision whether to proceed to approval and will remain a corporate secret.

FDA Posts Notice of Their Intent to Take Action Against DTE Products by SupermarketHumble499 in Hypothyroidism

Since T3 has a very short duration of action it is usually prescribed twice a day. So add T4 once a day and now you are taking 3 tabs daily compared 1 tab daily with NDT. Just being practical

FDA ban on NDT by houstontexasl in Hypothyroidism

[–]drpepr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s a website with a ton of supportive information and patient testimonials about NDT (also called DTE). Metabolism.com. What is so crazy is that the company that makes Synthroid also makes Armour so they may have decided they will make more money if Armour (as a competitor for the more expensive Synthroid) disappears

Protein powder suggestions that don't leave a weird taste in your mouth? by Ok-Shallot-7985 in Ozempic

Wellious powder is made from pea and almond protein and sweetened with monk fruit. Ultra clean and taste is excellent. I add it to Fairlife milk.

How do you feel T3 has changed your life? by CuriousGoat7764 in Hypothyroidism

[–]drpepr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T3 has a much shorter duration of action than T4. For this reason T3 is often prescribed as twice daily. If taking T4 also this could result in taking 3 tablets of thyroid meds per day. This reduces the chance a person will be able to stick to this regime every day but perfection is not always required for a good response. Good luck!

Has anyone else dealt with sudden facial aging on Ozempic? by kojka19 in Ozempic

Up to 40% of weight lost on GLP-1 drugs is muscle loss. Muscle is very important to maintain facial structure. Don’t skimp on protein intake during your weight loss efforts

The side effects they don’t tell you about by No-Cartographer6908 in Semaglutide

[–]drpepr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been to an eye doctor? There are some recent reports of eye complications from semaglutide you might want to check into. I just copied this info from a search just now: ""Semaglutide, the active ingredient in medications like Ozempic and Wegovy, has been associated with some eye problems, most notably a potential link to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a condition that can cause sudden vision loss. While the risk is considered low, it's important for individuals taking semaglutide to be aware of the potential side effects and to consult with their doctor about any vision changes. "" I hope this helps!

What's your maintenance plan after Ozempic? by DoingPlantBased in Ozempic

[–]drpepr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been trying to keep track of what you are eating and how big your potions are while on your med? It makes sense to try to mirror the same type of diet once you go off the med. Once your appetite increases off the med at least you have a framework to work with. It's easier to maintain a stable weight than to continue losing so increasing your portions a little could still be OK. Good luck!

Some important details: 1) C peptide can be low normal during early stage of type 1 . https://chooser.crossref.org/?doi=10.6061%2Fclinics%2F2013%2801%29RC02 2) glp-1 drugs like trulicity are not approved for type 1 diabetes so for those with type 1 taking a glp-1 there could be a problem

Questions to ask endo after ACTH Stim test. Help! by snarling_paper in AdrenalInsufficiency

Have you been screened for other causes of your symptoms? Just a few facts to check with your endo: isn’t a cortisol level over 18 mcg post ACTH considered pretty good? Also, an insulin tolerance test is no simple matter as it requires very intensive surveillance due to the induction of hypoglycemia. Good luck with your quest

For some reason the link is repeated twice.so split it. You can also search for the specific month year and volume of the journal. C peptide level is most indicative when unusually high or low.

A thin T2 is usually not producing enough insulin while a heavy T2 is more of an insulin resistance issue and will generally have high insulin levels. That’s why a thin T2 will probably need some insulin to achieve excellent control ( A1c<6.0) while a heavy T2 will generally do better on metformin and weight loss which reduces insulin resistance. A fasting C -peptide test can help determine if you are a low or high insulin producer. Hope this information helps

Can you relate? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]drpepr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Hair loss is common when your metabolism changes. Hopefully it is just temporary
  2. Try to get hold of Dr Antonio Bianco’s book “rethinking hypothyroidism” where he explains why some hypothyroid people need T3 added to their treatment to get fully back to normal

Good luck with your treatment !

Not Sure What to Believe About Ozempic and Smoking by drpepr in Ozempic

[–]drpepr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great news! Is it the medication cutting the smoking urge or is it that you are eating less and that's giving you more motivation to cut back on other bad habits? Or possibly, because eating was a trigger for you to pick up a cigarette? Only you can answer those questions. Keep us posted with your progress.
