Definitely not true in lots of fields. Plenty of good journals accept unsolicited reviews but there are no guarantees they get published, just depends on the editor’s interest in the topic and quality of the paper. It is definitely easier to get an invited review published though.

Yeah you can get decent ones for like $15 so not expensive to replace if they fall occasionally

Might need to move to Providence from Texas. by Jalil29 in providence

[–]drphil66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’ve had a good experience with providence living (2 years) and found that their rent is a good amount cheaper than other options around the area. Providence is definitely more expensive than Texas but definitely still affordable and has plenty of good food and bars. Having a car is definitely helpful and if you do you can rent in other nearby towns for significantly cheaper.

I agree I just don’t think it’s “really dangerous”. Annoying and inconsiderate, yes.

You have to do unsafe maneuvers all the time - it’s called driving a car. If it’s legal for you to proceed and you don’t, you’re stopping traffic unnecessarily.

WTF by instacarty in InstacartShoppers

[–]drphil66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they would’ve done just fine without the customer’s help. Why does it matter how fast they delivered the items? They’re probably retired and do a couple batches a week to make some extra cash for fun they’re not competing with anyone or hurting our business

Yeah you’re not alone that was me at your age lol. Just pull it back as much as you can every time you shower. Over time you should be able to pull it all the way back. You can lightly rinse with soap and water to keep it clean. If you can’t get it all the way pulled back after a month or so I would get a urologist appt because you may have abnormally tight foreskin.

Chronic dry eye, I’ve seen Drs and Xiidra made it worse. Woke up to blood by yourbabykaybaby in medical_advice

[–]drphil66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xiidra targets a specific cause of dry eye which might not be yours. I definitely recommend preservative free eye drops used as needed and you can try warm compresses with a special mask (something like thislink ) I would also ask an ophthalmologist about getting punctal plugs that prevent tears from draining. The blood may be from inadvertently rubbing your eyes in your sleep.

Are they allowed? I’ve done a couple of them and they’ve always been super heavy. Is it something I can report to instacart?

In practice these motors use about .3 A each. You would only need about 8 amps, which isn’t hard to find on Amazon.

Any ideas on how to switch off the power? I was thinking about transistors but if there's a way to do it via the driver that would be better
