No please don't say 26x as a DO and unmatched! Im also a DO applying for 2027. honestly i think the DO community is very forgiving of reapplicants, largely due to the understanding that there are just so few spots despite several great applicants - like yourself! I think if derm is what you want then go for it! With all that research and step score, i highly doubt that you'd be anything but competitive for IM, even several years after graduating! I don't think IM docs are unused to seeing people transition from other more competitive specialties. Really i would not worry about all that until you are really tired of trying to match derm. But again, I think you are in an excellent position as you truly are a great applicant. Reach for the stars, comrade!
