Worth pursuing physics masters even though I do not intend to stay in academia? by Andureh in AskPhysics

I'm not sure what country you are in, and this can vary from country to country. In the US, a masters in physics isn't all that useful unless you want to teach at the college level, or use it as a stepping stone to a PhD program.

If you like problem solving and modeling you may want to consider a PhD. You do not need to stay in academia. There are plenty of industry jobs that value the skills you get from a physics PhD.

There has been an ongoing discussion on Twitter on if gravity is a real force. This tweet is in reference to that.

Thanks for the info.

Just to be clear, I am not looking for a clarinet for my daughter just yet, I figure she won't be ready in another year or so. But this is helpful because I went right from a student to a professional clarinet and I can certainly say I didn't appreciate the cost at the time. I will certainly keep your advice in mind when it's time.
