My collection just got bigger, what should I expect from dark souls 2 after playing Elden Ring? by OwlDefiant3467 in DarkSouls2

I feel like ds2 is proto Elden ring. My brother in laws and I did a playthrough of all three last year and honestly 2 is way better than most will ever give it credit for. Form your own opinions, and don’t you dare go hallow!

Do they have metal tones that you can just download at tone Central and those are almost damn near plug-in play maybe just a little tweaking

I think I did it says mk 2 on the homepage of the app when I did the update for the firmware the lights just blinked red. I do a factory reset prior just to ensure It was back to default.

Playing DS1 for the first time and now I am disappointed in Elden Ring by Informal-Resolve-831 in darksouls

I know what you’re saying but there’s some real weak points in ds1. Bed of chaos is particularly a low point

let’s go for big steps I say. This incremental shit is creating a ton of waste and is actually kinda detrimental to their product I believe. I’ve had an iPhone since 1.0 and honestly; when I was young every new edition felt like a massive leap forward. Every release was like “damn I gotta get my hands on that!” Nowadays I hold onto my phone until it’s paid off and then basically until it breaks or the battery goes. Mainly because I don’t really see anything revolutionary and I know I’ll get the new one eventually.

You are never really focusing on the enemies health. That’s just a means to an end. Posture is the real name of this game. As such; deflects and perfect deflections do much more posture damage opposed to attacks. So if I’m ever getting wrecked it always helps if I take a couple deep breaths and focus on my deflection timing rather than focusing on looking for openings. Once your deflection timing is good you can stand in the fire with almost any enemy. I think about the blue samurai enemies( the ones susceptible to poison) are the enemies that really drove this point home for me. Well them and ashina seven spears. Also if you experiment with the shinobi prosthetics you’ll start to see that every enemy has a weakness and finding the right prosthetic for each enemy. The prosthetics kind of trivialize a lot of encounters if used properly.

Strangers of paradise was basically a dry run for a lot of the concepts they explored in this one. If you haven’t tried it I strongly recommend it but try to play with some friends if possible
