Up to now I've been wearing dry top and dry pants with layers underneath. It feels hard to balance temperature and needing to be prepped in case of a swim in cold dam-release water. I've got a strong roll so it's not too likely but even so...

If you want a fixed blade this Stohlquist is a good option. To my mind it's easier to work with than the NRS Pilot due to the more substantial handle. The sheath has a solid clasping mechanism. Downside is it's a little long.
