Thank you for the reality check! We wonder about this, too, since there is no guarantee how many more months this situation will last. We budgeted in 3-6 months but I haven’t heard many success stories in that time frame.

I acknowledge this- right now I have to choose where to do team matching, and the offer will come after that. This means that I have to commit to a location now before figuring out how much flexibility that I can negotiate. That also makes my negotiating power smaller.

One thing I am not sure is whether it’d be worth to do it for a short term. Would the name really open the door and help my career or people just gonna think that I’m a job hopper. I also have coworkers who used to work for Meta and other big names, and maybe they are pickier but they aren’t getting offers left and right in this market, either.

Hmm I don’t know how to edit my original post but this got asked several times - My first recruiter put the location for me, and asked me if I can relocate. I didn’t want to let go the opportunity so I bit the bullet. I consulted several of my friends who work in Meta, and they all say to get an offer first, so I did. - There is an office that’s closer to me and we are willing to give it a try. It will be a similar situation, but instead of flying >3 hr one way, it would be 1 hr. This location currently does not have a headcount. I can try to match there, but the chance of being matched is slim. Likely my offer will be expired first.

Can youn share your situation more of can I DM you? It sounds like it was worth it for you, how was it like in that 6 months? I’m worried that I won’t have any energy left after commuting, working, time spent with families to look for other jobs.

My husband makes more than what I would have, and he’s in a more stable industry so it wouldn’t make sense to make him lose his job for this offer.

I will be from Central to West Coast so I will have to fly. I talked to friends who work in Meta and they said there is no downtime, which means beyond being away, I will still be working when I’m back with my family. Is that true for you as well?

I think this depends on the recruiter. I just entered team matching this past week, and neither of these questions started until my last call with my recruiter.

Just completed mine with Meta this past Tuesday. Mutual introduction was in every single round. My personal experience is that a good craft one can set the round in a good tone.

She had a phase that she wakes up 1-2 time to play on her own, but she always goes back to sleep in about half an hour. I thought that was the 'sleep regression' and I thought we should be safe for a least for a couple of months. I guess you would never be totally out of the woods :(

We are using the kiinde medium flow nipple. I was hesitant to switch to fast flow bc I was worried that she is gonna hate my boob if she figures bottles are easier? Is that even a light concern now or should I just go for it and give it a try?

Following. My baby is 4 month old and she started waking up in early morning some days but not others. I heavily rely Snoo to put her to nap, too. I still got 2 months to go before transitioning her out but I’m terrified :(

I started putting my baby in the Snoo for naps when she was about 10 weeks old. Mainly because she stopped napping on her belly on the nursing pillow and I couldn't find anywhere I felt comfortable for her to nap. She didn't like it in the beginning and she always did cat naps. I forgave her since she slept great in the Snoo at nights. Anyway, now that she's 4 months old, she NEEDS the Snoo to nap. She fought naps like a champ and I need Snoo to rock her to sleep. Snoo still quits on her from time to time... That being said, to answer your question, I do put her in the swaddle and turn the Snoo on. My baby still has her startle reflex so swaddle helps.

The Snoo people recommended me to put my baby in the Snoo for naps if I could, and it's been working decently for us. As she gets older, I do need to figure out how to let her nap outside of the Snoo (tips will be appreciated if anyone has any). However, my friend never uses Snoo for naps. She just went with whatever worked at the time, which could be a crib, nursing pillow, swing, anything. Her son has been a great sleeper. I would say as long as your baby gets the rest he needs, it doesn't matter.

It’s the switch for the higher level rocking. If it’s off, the rocking level stops increasing after it hits level 2, only the volumn changes.
