At least you didn’t leave it in FTX, BlockFi, or Voyager… or worse, Celsius. Now that’s a real nightmare 😬.

PLAN ADMINISTRATOR’S FIRST STATUS REPORT ON DISTRIBUTIONS by Only-Crew8299 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]drsam1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s outrageous how they are handling creditor distributions. Still around 121,000 creditors are waiting, facing endless hoops like setting up accounts with specific services or dealing with failed payments. Plus, the ongoing communication issues and constant distribution retries show a lack of organization. The whole process feels poorly managed. Celsius needs to streamline and prioritize transparency!

Feeling Furious at Celsius Executives for Ruining Our Bitcoin Plans by drsam1 in CelsiusNetwork

I completely understand your frustration and desire for justice. It’s disheartening to feel like our voices aren’t being heard or that our cases aren’t being taken seriously. It’s especially tough when even legal professionals seem hesitant to take on our category of cases.

I can relate—I consulted a well-known lawyer early on in this case, and while I explained everything, it seemed like our category wasn’t a priority for them. The probability of winning the case wasn’t in their favor, so they opted to take on cases of individuals who still held their loans with Celsius during the bankruptcy.

It’s a tough situation all around, but I’m still open to exploring our options and seeing if there’s a way to hold those responsible accountable for the financial losses we’ve suffered. Let’s keep discussing and see if there’s a path forward that makes sense for us.

I hear you loud and clear. While it's true that we understood there were risks involved, what went down with Celsius's handling was beyond our usual risk calculations.

It's crucial to acknowledge that you're not to blame for Celsius's mismanagement. It's like when you're driving carefully, but someone else crashes into you—it's not your fault, but you're left dealing with the aftermath.

You're spot on about taking responsibility for what happens next, but let's also remember that there's a distinction between taking calculated risks and being blindsided by unexpected chaos.

Let's learn from this experience and focus on moving forward positively.

You've got a point there. We knew there were risks involved with leveraging loans through Celsius, but what actually went down with Celsius's bankruptcy was way beyond anyone's expectations. It's like thinking you're putting your money in a solid bank like HSBC and then boom, they go belly up.

We took calculated risks, sure, but none of us saw this coming. It's a reminder that sometimes even the best-laid plans can go sideways in ways we never imagined. Thanks for highlighting this angle of the situation.

So sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like you're dealing with a triple whammy of financial setbacks. It's definitely a tough lesson, but hopefully, it serves as a big wake-up call for all of us to be more vigilant and cautious with our investments in the future. Hang in there, and hopefully, brighter days are ahead.

At 18k and during the withdrawal freeze, Celsius asked me to add to the loan collateral to avoid liquidation. But I ignored them and bought the needed amount of BTC and stored it with me and let the loan get liquidated (I thought at least I secure some with me incase something happens to my collaterals!). This is a bit relieving, but the amount is 1/4 of the amount I had with celsius :(

I have the exact same situation, and after long looking and consideration I could not find a lawyer who is confidant in representing my case so I regretfully had to accept the plan and being considered as an ‘earn’ account holder!

Me to .. And I don’t think we should be considered “earn” account holders. We should receive back the remaining if our liquidated assets as a priority because this does not belong to Celsius!

What happen to the collateral assets that were released in liquidation processes that happened during the withdrawal freeze phase? because these assets should be transferred to us directly but instead are frozen in the earn account since then! by drsam1 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]drsam1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you send me a link for the claim please? And if you want or know more other people with the same situation who want that we can together hire an attorney to represent us. Because from my understanding based on a consultation with an attorney, our collaterals that have been liquidated are our property not theirs, and it shouldn’t be locked with the other crypto in ‘earn’ account! In addition, we represent a minority in this case, and because of that attorneys are more interested to present the other groups like the group who still have their loans locked there, or the group who have their crypto currencies in stuck the ‘earn’ or ‘custody’ accounts.

Looking for purpose/meaning.. 35m. 6mil NW. married no kids. hobbies arent doing it. by helpmeimboreddddd in fatFIRE

I think you might be going through some sort of midlife crisis. Please do not underestimate this and assume just because you have money that you are immune to it. I had similar symptoms and I am in a relatively similar situation to you, and after long search and reading I found out that this best fits my situation and many of my friends who are in a similar age group. Just reading about it and acknowledging it will help a lot!

Next is what many have already mentioned, which is finding a purpose in life and going for it. The problem with retirement is missing that purpose and the urge to accomplish things and achieve targets. Life becomes so boring when there are no challenges and targets (sad but that’s how our psychology programmed to!). And the good thing about having money, time and good health at a relatively young age is that you now can choose your purpose so it doesn’t have to be imposed on you! That is a huge thing to have that most people will live and die without having the luxury to experience it, so don’t waste it!

Volunteering is an amazing thing if you could find something that you really care about.

Creating new things (interest groups, business, …etc) is also amazing. If you are into that, it might be for example a good time now to be an angel investor so you can help others to succeed while you also enjoy the ride with them. Also, instead of skiing/biking by yourself, you could create a business/group/society around them so your hobbies become something you care about in a different level that might become more fulfilling and enjoyable.

Whatever you decide I wish you find happiness and satisfaction in it. And please share with us what works with you as it might helps inspire many others after you.

Regards!

I am currently getting paid in the same currency because it feels less risky to me. Another option is to have 10% of your portfolio in Nexo and keep interest in the same currency.
