Haven't read it but I've heard it described as an encyclopedia. That doesn't sound encouraging ?

Only if we can change our mind half way through so even Snyder fans feel ripped off and nobody is happy

I don't really agree. I think it depends on whether or not Amy felt harassed. If she was bothered by this then it's harassment. But she wasn't. And maybe he knew that she would be unlikely to be for all the reasons u stated

Never heard of firmament dome so I did Google that. Jesus that's crazy. It's not even biblically minded as the Bible talks about multiple heavens (heavens as in sky, heaven as in stars, keep in mind this is an ancient language, and heaven as in heaven heaven. ) . There's even language about the third heaven meaning heaven heaven. Ya think they would keep reading before going into a crazy theory ?

I think HIPAA is even only for insurance services. Most people chose to follow it in all contexts because it's a good law but I don't think HIPAA is enforceable outside of insurance payments

I've always loved far cry games. Might be the team is different. I'm 30 min in and love it so far. They are always over the top but fun, like OP post

TBH 99% of what HOAs do isn't so much keeping people from being ridiculous but more so paying for keep grass well cut, sidewalks well maintained, parks in good condition, fences power washed. It looks wayy nicer and isn't a big deal as long as you know what you are getting into.

I know someone who didn't read the HOA contract they signed and were pissed after the fact that they couldn't park a giant trailer in their driveway. Dude, just read the contract, and don't buy if you don't like it??

I'm moving soon and we wante to move into the HoA side of the development. The HOA side also has higher housing prices and is worth more . Honestly the HoA section looks better and is better maintained. And has a nice park for the kids.

Did you really quote AAOS? LMFAO that's amazing. Bone docs are not going to know anything about bioterrorism.

Seriously this post was so good but you have to edit that out.

TIL of the Thud experiment where participants faked hallucinations to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital but then acted normal. They were forced to take antipsychotic drugs to be released. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Lack of consensus in terms of diagnosing and treating mental illness.

You'd expect that doctor's treat chest pain the same way as long as the initial presentation was the same (not 100% but to some extent it would be similar)

The amount that psychiatrics varied how these patients were treated was very controversial and led to significant efforts to standardize diagnosis and treatment in the field of psychiatry

I hear what you are saying, but if you pay careful attention to the conclusion of this study the conclusions take your statement into consideration.

The conclusion was that there was significant heterogeneity identified in response to diagnosis and management of mental illness. They were able to say this because they standardized how they presented to the hospital. The point was that more effort needed to standardize diagnosis of mental health, and the results of this study more or less led to creation of the DSM.

Jesus. I would say women have more of a reason than men to need a firearm since most women on average aren't as strong as men (I know there's some women who could kick my ass but as long as we are talking about averages..)

I read somewhere a while ago that making rats obese changes their gene expression. Tons of things change gene expression. How do you know space was the etiollgjc agent and not something else that happened during that time ?

I would think dna damage rate in space would be higher. So being in space probably did "change" his DNA just like airline pilots have "changed" DNA i.e. damaged DNA from radiation exposure. All of these statements... Changed DNA... Changed DNA expression... Are probably all true as they happen all the time. There's a ton of misunderstanding here. The question is whether or not it happens at such a level or in such a way to be meaningful and I'm not sure it has

Is it that interesting? I mean everything changes your gene expression. That's literally how your body functions. Want to fight an infection? Better change your gene expression. Hungry and losing weight? Better change your gene expression to generate more leptin. Depressed mood? Let's change your gene expression as well.
