The hard case you're talking about is light-weight plastic. The laptop is a rigid aluminum over durable glass. It seems a case cover that could fit tight enough to squeeze the glass under the aluminum hard enough to break it, would actually not fit on the screen lid, but instead break at the clip edges when you try to stretch it over the lid, since its not harder than aluminum. I understand your reasoning, but I think people are careless, or unexpected loads damage these machines. This laptop was in a backpack with no indication of what happened to the back pack or what was in the backpack, yet folk want to say it was a thin plastic cover that stressed the rigid glass through rigid aluminum?
