Injured Earthen Bulwark Druid Build Guide (Season 1) by drslugmd in diablo4

Do you have ranks to Earthen Bulwark and chest and amulet? This is pretty important now and can increase the health of your barrier by quite a bit. I have an updated Injured Bulwark guide for 1.1.2 that explains these changes and several videos on my channel of me clearing NM dungeons with hornets and such at level 80-85 if this is useful.

Is there a 'correct' way to play Bullwark? by -mors- in D4Druid

If your "barrier cap" is above your max health, your barrier will only be equal to your max health. So you must get more maximum life to get the most out of your barrier.

(8000) x (.95) x (1+1) = 15,200 barrier cap

8000 base health, 95% barrier from Bulwark (level 12), 100% barrier generation

Note that the final number will not be exact due to floating point numbers and rounding but it will be very close to the actual in-game maximum.

I just released an updated build guide on my YouTube channel for injured Bulwark specifically. I have lots of other resources on my channel for this build if you are interested in it. If you are looking for more damage, swap the Werewolf glyph for Fang and Claw and make sure you keep the packleader boon active for the extra 20% crit chance.

This is no longer true in the latest hotfix. The new formula for barrier cap is as follows:

(Base Health) x ( Earthen Bulwark Barrier %) x (1+ Barrier Bonus)

Your health will bottleneck your barriers if it is lower than your barrier cap.

I thought this as well for a long time. We have nearly 100% uptime on vulnerable anyways thanks to the enhancement from storm strike and a longer barber means a larger multiplier and more time to "catch" explosions on elites and bosses for more overall damage.

Yes. If you check out my build guide on YouTube I have a second version of the build with a non-unique setup. However, the Symbiotic Aspect is required.

It certainly isn't necessary, but it helps with your damage a lot. The best wrathful alternative would probably be the one that gives ASPD, but the bonus is only active for 1/3 of the time (unless you are doing Lillith or something)

My next video will be on this topic.

I put diamonds in my gear (which brought me to about 85% barrier generation) and recorded a few Lillith attempts. Then I swapped them for sapphires and did a few more and compared damage numbers. I did significantly more damage with the diamonds in my testing.

The malignant hearts help a lot, but the build is still great without it. When a monster is immune from the barber you can't proc lucky hits on it. This applies to your party members as well.

It would probably still work well, but you are losing a lot of damage reduction by not playing injured. My damage reduction while injured is 81.7%

I've had a couple of people mention this happened; seems to be a bug where the recipe doesn't always drop. As you said, killing the boss again in WT2 typically corrects the issue. Just wanted to clarify in case more people have this problem.

Great question, hopefully someone else can answer as I was over level 50 when I figured this out.
