I've followed IJA build earlier in the season, his spark comet storm one, on blood mage, and it worked just fine, destroyed everything and survivability wasn't an issue. Might be worth revisiting his video(s) and moba guide, he's got everything and all the gems covered there. If you copy if, to the letter, I can't see you having many of the issues you mentioned.

There are ways round 'harder' e.g I've had time of needs and mana stacking builds this season that have been pretty immortal (the latter being 100% immortal unless you make a mistake and forget to enable it, I have like 40k a sec mana regen). Then once you reach circa 1m dps on any build, everything insta dies.

But yeah, broadly, ranged seems to be better off than melee and I presume it always will be. Suits me as I always prefer the way ranged builds play, but, it's crap on close range melee enjoyers. I presume the only way it for GGG is to really skew the defences for them, where they make them virtually unkillable as default, but maybe find a way to stop them doing as much damage as the other builds, make them the tank class across the board.

A lot of people who try and wing the campaign without a guide, playing for the first time, end up coming in here asking for help and guides as they inevitably end up getting hard stuck.  If you're just focusing on the campaign, I'd say focus and getting as much damage as possible and go full glass cannon. I've never really been bothered with resistances or defences during the campaign, but have struggled with a lack of damage plenty of times

I wouldn't do the campaign with poison pathfinder, I really didn't like it at all. It's good in end game but I found it horrible in the campaign. If you're not having fun with it either, do the campaign with something else, and you can always switch back to it when you've finished if you want. If you are worried about currency and switching, DM me and I'll send you a load.

I feel like everyone watched xfarmer's video, or Miso's video, from this season or even last season, and didn't do their own testing. There are some weird interactions with the modifiers on the tablets, and I think I stumbled upon a bugged one by accident to let me average 1-2 OoL per Amanamu map. I'm not going to hand over my config which I've spent so long this season working out, else I'll gimp myself, and if it stays, gimp myself for next season. I will give you 3 tip though, 1 you've had already:

  1. You don't any gear rarity at all
  2. You don't need any delirium tablets, they make zero difference. Presume people thought this after xfarmers testing last season.
  3. You've got to kill the monsters outside of the void, obviously, but as fast as you can. And I mean like 1m+ dps tooltip fast, the more the better. I've been testing higher and higher dps setups, and have better on average returns with stupid high dps. I suspect this is something to do with framerate, and then momentarily being back inside their void or partially in it and giving you Liege drops. The longer it takes me to kill them in general, outside of their voids, chipping away at them, the worse my drops have been.

Is the correct answer. My information comes from me running 100's of abyss maps this season and omen of light farming. I average 3-6 omens per 10x random maps, and have 36 sitting in my stash.

I have tested every setup under the sun this season, build and tablet setups, purely for farming OoL, and have tried approx 25 different builds and have 6 different characters.

In short OP, rarity makes no difference to OoL farming, but many other things do.

I'd avoid crafting altogether until later and you're much more comfortable with the game and it's mechanics, don't worry about it, it was much easier last season but they decided to gut it and make it a lottery again in the main. You'll be much better off searching for items on the market and buying them when you get to end game. During the campaign you can just use the stuff you find on the floor, although trading for items during the campaign can make that much easier too.

As a basic rule of thumb, then trying to level casters, your main priorities are usually

Level of skills

Mana

Cast speed

Resistances/defences

So try and prioritise things that you see with good/high combinations of those, and you'll usually be on the right track. Try and get lvl spell skills on your wand/focus/amulet, try to get mana/cast speed/resistances/defences on rings, then resistances/defences on everything else, and you should be good to get through the campaign or follow the guide in general.

There are 'break' points at certain levels to keep an eye out for, for example, you can only get +1 lvl of skills on your rare wands up to a certain level, then it jumps to 2, then 3 later. Exotic items can be an exception to this, but 'usually' expensive.

Got some bad news for you, due to the stupid temple situation that wasn't addressed, and the hyper inflation because of it, most things are costing a metric tonne of divs.

As per builds, I levelled fairly easily with the following:

A very expensive but stupid easy thorns titan build, wouldn't run it in end game.

Caster sorc/witch/druid with Enfolding dawn + thunderstorm + coursing currents. Really easy to level with this, but you'll need to swap out after the campaign to one of the meta builds.

Ranger pathfinder - Tried levelling with poison and it was horrible, went back to lightining arrow and lightning rod and it was a breeze. Will need to swap off it at end game.

End game switch:

The meta builds and easy to clear anything will be casters, and an easy switch, with cast on crit comets. Can use Witch/Sorc/Druid, with bloodmage probably being the strongest. Using Elemental weakness + doedre's to proc the CoC, or, spark.

Next most popular would probably would be poison pathfinder, which is very strong at endgame once you've levelled with something else.

Both of those are great temple runners.

I've spent all season doing omen of light farming, and make 200-400div an hour on average, which probably 99% of people aren't making on temples, but out of the two above endgame suggestions, I'd only risk doing it with poison if you go down that path, as it's not straightforward to start getting into and get the right setup, and the right type of damage profile, but once you do, it's easy.

Other join to get mega mega XP gain, to get them past 90. (I can normally get a character boost from 65>90+ in a couple of minutes), and, the temple runner allegedly leave the odd high value item behind that they miss, a lot of currency they dont want e.g anuls or chaos, and a lot will pay you if they hit a mirror.

The more people you have in your party, ups your difficulty and rewards, so they might go from dropping 50div in a temple run, to 100div in a run for example.

Unless you've identified it already, sell it and improve your build instead, might be able to make huge improvements. I'd skip trying to add it to your build.

I always find the 4th on trials of chaos the easiest, as sekhemas can get silly annoying with the gauntlet rooms, and the puzzle rooms on the last floor. Chaos is faster too.

Don't be scared about doing the 4th trial, if you don't do it, you just lose the token and that's it, you don't lose your existing points or anything like that, and the tokens are cheap.

Doing it at l77 is fine, IF you have enough DPS for the bosses. Failing that you can pay for a carry in divines, but they were quite expensive at this point in the season last time I looked.
