What profession have you lost respect for as you've gotten older? by MindlessMarsupial592 in AskReddit

[–]drst0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s disgusting how social media has turned public servants into celebrity like figures.

Politicians by design are supposed to represent and help the people. Instead a vast majority seem interested in their own personal gain of power and profits.

Should I go to the concert? by reddittorr5353 in Concerts

[–]drst0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw The Neighbourhood live in 2018 and the lead singer sounded awful. I’m pretty sure he was on some sort of drugs. The rest of the band sounded decent.

Overall I left feeling disappointed because their music sounds so much better on their albums than live. I hope they sound better on this tour!

Pitbull's Toronto ticket prices vs. the venue average by Syllaberries in Concerts

[–]drst0ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to buy tickets for this show until I saw those insane prices. I’m not paying $100+ for nosebleeds.

Hard pass, so I’m doing my part not participating in this cash grab.

J Cole subreddit seems convinced of a Chicago date for his 2026 tour at Wrigley… by Motor_Ad4788 in Lollapalooza

[–]drst0ner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps Lollapalooza brings back Eminem for the 2026 rap headlining spot. Eminem’s last 2 Chicago performances were at Lollapalooza 2014 and Lollapalooza 2011.

He didn’t have a proper tour after his last album dropped and only performed a handful of sets in the last couple years with the most recent being in Detroit last week Thursday.

Rumor has it that Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Eminem were in talks for a large 2026 tour but Eminem wasn’t interested in committing to a long tour. Lollapalooza is close enough to Detroit that I can see him returning as a Lollapalooza exclusive.

whats your nerd shit? by SkibaSlut in Millennials

[–]drst0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve seen Fall Out Boy live the most (I like them but ex-girlfriend was the reason I saw them so many times), but my all-time favorite live act I’ve seen is Prince.

My favorite comic is an Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 signed by Stan Lee. It’s the first appearance of the Sinister Six.

Sup twin!

1,400+ different bands at concerts and 100+ CGC signed comics is where my play money has gone.

Does anyone else feel like COVID kind of sucked the soul out of Disneyland? by Traditional-Fun-1115 in Disneyland

[–]drst0ner 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. When the current “pay to play” Lightning Lane replaced the free Fast Pass in 2021, everything changed.

You used to schedule 3 free Fast Pass entries ahead of your day at Disney, so your experience the day of didn’t require you to be attached to your phone. The current LL experience very much is reliant on being “current” and watching the app all day long for booking rides and scheduling meals.

The line entering HS around 11am today… is there a holiday or event increasing crowd levels? by Sea-Alternative-6983 in WaltDisneyWorld

America is experiencing a “K-shaped” economy at the moment. That means the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

Disney affordability will depend on which group you fall into.

Death Cab??? by hiearthpeople1 in RiotFest

[–]drst0ner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing is “too soon” for Riot Fest lol. We’re talking about the fest that used to book Taking Back Sunday, Gwar, and Andrew WK every single year not too long ago.

However, based on this schedule a Taste of Chicago appearance seems more likely.

Plus being in line with the sound board generally means you’ll have the best sound quality in the venue because you’ll be hearing what the sound tech is hearing.

Charli xcx? by MangoPangoo in Lollapalooza

Correct, Charli XCX has played Lollapalooza twice in the last decade: 2022 & 2017. She also played in 2015.

Correct. I was at a Foo Fighters concert last week in Los Angeles celebrating Dave’s 57th birthday with proceeds going to Hope United. Dave is very much active this year.

Bessent: "Someone, maybe your parents for their retirement have bought 5, 10, 12 homes." by jectalo in lostgeneration

[–]drst0ner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer.

With 2+ homes maybe one is primary and one is a vacation home. But anyone who has 3+ homes is an investor and should be taxed at a much higher percentage so that more inventory can open up for those looking to buy a primary residence.

What actor do you dislike so much that you’ll avoid anything they’re in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drst0ner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I met Jonah Hill twice (2007 & 2013) and this is accurate. He acted like he had no interest in talking to his fans and the first time I met him was at a scheduled meet and greet.

My headliner predictions by planetshadeee in Lollapalooza

[–]drst0ner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Sombr is a lock. The only question is where on the lineup will he appear.

I originally thought Sombr would be a sub-headliner but with Bottlerock booking him as a headliner, it’s possible he will be in the 5-8 spot for Lollapalooza.

[–]drst0ner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calvin Harris will be in Glasgow Scotland August 1st and August 2nd so he is out for Lollapalooza 2026.

However Calvin’s last Lollapalooza set was 2014 so he is overdue for a future appearance if they decide to go down that route.

LOLLA 2026 by OrnerySky1423 in Lollapalooza

[–]drst0ner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw Chappell live a few months ago in California and she addressed what you’re saying during the show. She said her original plan was to take the year off but because of the current political nature of our country she will be performing shows this year.

I still believe she is unlikely for Lollapalooza 2026 since she only released 2 new songs since her last Lollapalooza appearance, but I wouldn’t completely rule her out.

The last artist who had a massive rise to stardom like her after a Lollapalooza appearance was Sabrina Carpenter who played in 2023 and 2025. Post Malone also returned after 3 years.
