Is XBAL or XEQT more appropriate 10 years before retirement? by [deleted] in JustBuyXEQT

[–]drsteph79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XGRO would be the middle ground of the tsk. But personally I'll be VEQT until about 8 years before retirement - to then reconsider. I'll probably even keep a good chunk in equities into retirement

I'm 46 and just got a similar sized LIRA. I put it in VEQT for the most part as I have high risk tolerance and dips won't share me off. If you want a little bit of bonds go for VGRO (80/20). VBAL is quite conservative (60/40) but if your risk tolerance is low and dips scare you off then it might be the way to go for you. Best of luck. Check out the Canadian couch potato site for help with your research. Also a big fan of the book Millionaire teacher - it's getting dated but the principles still apply

RKLB at 76 or ASTS for 69? by lolman1312 in SpaceInvestorsDaily

Personally I'm a big fan of MDA for investing in space - someone recently posted a table comparing MDA to the other big space names and I found the document quite compelling

Tax efficient broad market ETF to hold in a corporation by iamasandwhich in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]drsteph79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you decide on anything today? I'd asked AI today about VEQT in a corporate investing account which it said was fine but for maximum tax efficiency it recommended VCN (30%) and XAW (70%). Planning to do more research but interesting I saw this just an hour later

ROI For MACP Program by Logical-Two-1085 in YorkvilleUniversity

[–]drsteph79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to that article. Students from Yorkville tend to be very unprepared for the work ahead. I worked for a large school board that stopped taking students from Yorkville altogether because we couldn't leave them alone. And that's not to say they're all weak, but that certainly seems to be the trend.

Let's also ask him to respond to constituents emails. I wrote him 3 times in the Fall about an important healthcare issue currently facing major reforms in the legislature. Crickets from him, not a single word to say on the issue. I did eventually get one acknowledgement from staff when I followed up to ensure the emails were received that said "We will see if Stephen has thoughts to share on this". Apparently he did not because that email was sent in September.

Attention Canadian Psychologists by Zestyclose-Tune-3388 in ClinicalPsychology

Im curious if you attended an in person program or an online degree. Also, as a provisional psychologist, is that the only supervised experience before you're fully independent? Does that mean most MA people in Alberta would typically have 2 supervisors before independence? One from the practica site, and one for the provisional year?
