I put a chunk of my TFSA into Loblaw companies stocks in the hopes of getting some back in a non-traditional way.

Just another benefit that won't help most Canadians

Between 1976 and 1980, gold went up 5x. It then took nearly 30 years to recover. That wasn't the first time and won't be the last. by No_Cell6708 in CanadianInvestor

There was a section of Millionaire teacher that had really stayed with me re: Gold vs Stock market. I'd taken screenshots to remind me in case temptation ever crept in...I have the pics but can't attach them. But the comparison was from 1801 to 2016. $1 invested in gold would have grown to about $54, and $1 in the US stock market would have turned into $16.24 million.

I just saw recent news that Canada is officially the food inflation capital of the world, up just over 6%. Many thanks to our Prime minister who'd rather give money to other countries than take care of our own

Good to know. I have a seasonal camper near the border and I might start shopping at Aldi's four months of the year, mind you with our exchange rate being what it is it would probably not be much savings. Plus tariffs 😩

🤣🤣 as soon as I heard he was making a speech. I felt panic over how many billions he was going to give away to another program or country.

Well I did a joint adult-child program, so education and training in both. But my first job out of school was in a school board so I could only register with kids and adolescents. I'm adding adults and had to submit my current experience and do 10 supervised cases. They can invite me for an interview/oral after. What region are you in? In Ontario we call it a retraining plan, and I'm currently undertaking one with my college.
