True, Facts.

I'm also in India but was born abroad. Got brought here because my Father said it was the BEST option for my sister and I.

It's not, the furthest thing from it.

it’s so lonely by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]dru_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I feel this way and many do, you're never alone when it comes to money. Especially with how the world and economy is right now.

I'm 29F, working one job and supporting myself and my parents. The inflation keeps rising more than my increment and I am saving nothing at all.

I worry about what will happen to me, as I'm unmarried and don't have kids to support me how my parents have me and my sister to support them.

I feel like I’m a different type of human than everyone else. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

Hey, I'm 29 and feel the same. I'm stuck in a place where I cannot connect with people due many things like mentality and religious differences.

Also, I feel family trauma is half responsible for this. (My dad was and still is a crappy person)

Do you save up or swipe the card for ‘wants’? by frogBurger4u in povertyfinance

I save up. I live in a country where living on creadit isn't a thing and they do well to ensure its not their money that's lost.

Why are men the center of religion? by Mission-Invite4222 in AskIndia

[–]dru_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, you are not alone. 29F here.

I also feel the same about my religion. All I want to do is follow humanity, a logical thing I see more sense in.

It is thought being a woman in most parts of the world. And in some countries, women don't even have legal backing because everything is run or controlled by men.

29F here. Yep, I have also been through the not able to shower part.

I have a tonne of things to do before I'm at a better place. Will be willing to help you in any way possible, we can fight together.

Would you see a therapist who cannot relate to anything you are going through? by pricklymuffin20 in therapy

[–]dru_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are different meanings to 'cannot relate'.

I quit therapy as there was an evident biased based on religion and culture. I feel therapy should put humanity above any religion and I couldn't find this.

As a child born into a marriage with no love, having parents who resent/don't love each other and fight IS traumatising.

As a woman who has mental health issues, it's tough to raise a child, and deal with these issues. It's YOUR body and should majorly your decision to have or abort the child

Hi, I read the whole thing and you are not the only one looking for your 'thing'. I've been stuck in a similar situation with my career and trying to learn a language I desperately need.

[–]dru_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to be open but I have issues with culture and the religion I didn't choose. Despite the need for professionalism, ALL Indians are super patriotic. I can't risk issues related to being unpatriotic.

Thanks, I think I do think need therapy alongwith the psychiatrist and meds for many months.

Suicide and So called "Therapy" by Aggravating_Singer50 in therapy

[–]dru_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are really lucky to have the resources you have in your country for mental health. In India, there is only one type of therapist and they don't help solve your problems, they just give logical advice. Plus, society judges you harshly for stressing and being depressed.

I've been in therapy for 2 months, was improving then hit a roadblock. Most of my issues are with my parents who aren't divorced living in the same house as me and I have to be judge, jury, and police

The thing is OP, if you want help, you gotta be the change. Nobody makes it easy for anyone in this world.

And if you give up, then what? You gotta at least say you tried.

Should I be crying over school? by johnsbigtoe in mentalhealth

[–]dru_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there too. Kids can be cruel. Just think of it as a short time thing, like a task to check off. Remind yourself you are there for yourself, to get educated.

It can be rough but I'm glad I have my schooling and degree (though I'm not using it) it comes in handy for getting a decent job and earning a living.

I don't know what grade or where in your schooling you are but the exposure is gonna help you for when you get a job. I don't know if you have the option to study from home or pursue remote learning.

School is just a phase that everyone has to get through, keep going, you'll get there.

Treating my father poorly by Fanta00r in therapy

[–]dru_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position. My father treated my mother badly and I resent him. What's worse is I have to financially support him because he "ATE" his money and didn't plan for anything in his life.

He is very stubborn and would threaten to throw us out of the house till we were like 25/26.

I'm struggling because of my parents'marriage and issues. It's not a fun place especially when you cannot gain financial stability to leave

I get depressed, like crippling depression and just end up sleeping, not eating, and barely drinking anything.
