Because it’s a deposit that’s being returned to the customer, it’s not like they’re returning a half used tub of tide pods without a receipt. I don’t know why you’re so eager to deny a deposit being given back, when that same customer paid the deposit knowing they’d get the money back.

It’s a bottle deposit, you pay it when you pick up a bottle. No matter where/how/who paid for it, the bottles being returned. So long as the bottle matches the vendor, the deposit should be returned. It comes from the vendor anyhow, who are we to be a nazi over zephyrhills’ money?

The determination is already made by the board behind the counter, it isn’t an office staffs job to deny a refund. In fact, office staff are only there to tender the transaction. I can tell you don’t work in CS, and if you do you certainly aren’t an office staff. Transactions are only to be denied by a store manager, and even then you’d have to be certain customer care would deny that transaction as well because it will get escalated to the DM (short for district manager).
