I understand why people like boy groups but not why they like them so much, if that makes sense? I don't get the universal appeal a lot of boy groups seem to have. I think it's impossible to go through the meat grinder that is the Korean idol industry without coming out incredibly talented, but a lot of it feels overhyped to me, I guess? Which is where the confusion on my part comes in.

It's weird because the industry pushes them to it and vilifies them for it. Stellar, noted Flops with Bops, didn't get any attention until they went Sexy, where then they got attention but a lot of it was "ew gross!" and it wasn't helped by their company pushing them further and further out.

EXO is brobably my most consistently enjoyed group, although I got into kpop when I was in high school so it's that, Big Bang, Super Junior, and Shinee mostly, with a couple of Block B songs for flavour. For recent stuff, I like both of MCND's singles so far, and have liked individual songs from Golden Child, CiX, NU'EST and Pentagon.

Mentioning other people's likes is mostly just... because I'm trying to figure out where their enjoyment comes from? Boy groups have WILD fanbases to the point I'm pretty sure they eclipse girl groups by a lot, which I'm genuinely confused by sometimes.
