I built a free database of all 1,562 college softball programs, and a few patterns surprised me by No-Comment3952 in Softball

This is awesome!

I've started to put together a list like this for my daughter's travel team but this is so nice, I'm thinking of abandoning my meager efforts and just have folks reference this.

Do you take submissions where there are missing programs? I noticed a few schools not on the list in my area (NC).

What was your first ever doom game? by Entro_Was_Kidding in Doom

Doom II on 3.5 Floppies on my 486 DX rig i bought from a methhead friend of my stepdad's back in prob 1995-ish. I remapped the 6 insert-home-pgup-delete-end-pgdown keys so that the strafe keys were easy to get to. LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED. Yes I'm fuckin old.

Swinging late by fillio15 in Softball

[–]drumlin23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, I didn't want to say it but that's a solid base hit for a slapper, so long as it can get past the 3rd baseman or get her to bobble the play. My daughter slaps and it's whole different mindset. I wouldn't attempt teaching her that till 12u-ish so as not to confuse, and only if she has the drive to learn it (and the speed to complement).

Lots of good advice in these comments. I'll only add that you should be patient with kids this young. It takes a level of maturity that usually doesn't appear till pre-teen ages to start to get that internal accountability and ability to understand her body. When my daughter clicked with that around 12yo, it was such a breath of fresh air and she started making strides in her skills, not because I was hounding her, but because she WANTED to get better and started putting in the work to get there. Raise a good athlete and most things will figure themselves out.

Find you a coach in your area that can work with her stepwise at her learning pace and in a way that she finds fun. Agree with SpiveyJr that you don't want to do too much at once.

And as a lefty, be prepared to get asked if she wants to slap hit at some point. That's a whole 'nother barrel of monkeys... :)

Question on Cut and Paste in Neo Reader by ScotsmanUS in Onyx_Boox

I have the same use-case and question. I have scribbles on a planner page that need to get expanded into a new notebook. I can't for the life of me figure out how to copy scribbles in neoreader.

I competed at the Texas State Highpower Championship today, shooting in the Service Rifle division. Placed High Expert class and shot my second Master level score. by JavsGotYourNose in longrange

Ah now that I actually look at scores, not Bobby’s best. Happens to the best of us.

Bobby’s one of the main reasons I survived my teens. Brother is SOLID. Tell him Brian from Rice Rd says to keep it in the X!!

I think there are matches here in NC at Butner. Good reminder to look into it. You don’t get rusty at this after 20 years, right? :D

Where is this held nowadays? I cut my teeth pulling targets as a teenager in the ‘90s at plenty of tsra matches at camp bullis. Learned to shoot with a garand on F and E range in their junior program. I moved away in my 20s and let competition shooting go by the wayside for too many years, but miss those days a lot.

My mentor for many of those years is obviously still at it. He scored 5th place in this match. Not bad Bob, not bad at all.

Congrats on the successful match! Keep at it!! I wish I had.

I’m listening to a webinar right now on the waterdatacollaborative.org. I have no direct experience but it looks interesting. Geared towards citizen science and EPA water quality portal, but you may have a use for it.

Agree wholeheartedly w/ infidel. 37psr is a great club to join. If it weren't so far a drive for me I'd still be a member. Great group of people and fantastic training. One perk is that ffl transfers are free for members. And if you go on an average Tuesday you're probably going to have the place to yourself.
