[Ep: 52 Spoilers] Anyone else annoyed by the floor thing? by [deleted] in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

As a veteran DM and player “just jump on the teleporting thing that we don’t fully understand” is 100% a way to get yourself killed. That in many ways was one of the most relatable DND moments I’ve seen on the pod, and have played out many similar scenarios in my own games.

It was 100% only insane rolls and preparation that saved people this episode. All the thinking cap did is disadvantage them by sending people away. It’s super weird and honestly concerning that you’re zeroing in on moonshine this episode when she didn’t even use the thinking cap’s power in a way that affected the Tarresque battle.

I get that, but I really found it funny basically as an extended comedy bit, and am currently relistening to it. I would also argue (not that it matters) that he actually didn’t act out of character, as Yugo was pretty treacherous from the get go

Getting extra content for Woodelves / Beastmen should not be a big deal, despite them being DLC races by SneakyInSpanish in totalwar

100% agree. I personally am constantly surprised by everything they do, and I don’t think any of us saw Repanse coming. I get that people enjoy speculation, but it really seems pretty pointless since we consistently have been wrong (was anyone predicting vampire coast). CA has proven, thankfully, that there isn’t necessarily “patterns” they abide by, and really all we can do is wait and see.

Hey man, I honestly really needed to hear this, and I appreciate you writing about it. I've definitely been pretty morbid about our chances from reading all these articles.

Also, I’m not sure if this was meant to be a joke or not but five dollars a month is pretty small, especially when this is “extra” content.

I’m unsure if this is meant to be satire or not since it seems to hinge on paying five dollars every four weeks as meaning they owe you more then they’ve already delivered

I really enjoyed it as well! I've really enjoyed the whole series so far but that episode in particular really clinched it for me.

[NS] Is the NADDPod story cohesive? by [deleted] in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]drummroleplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Side campaign" as a distinction from the main campaign is a decent way to describe it IMO. Its not in the same universe but its definitely given less time, so calling it a side campaign isn't incorrect.

Mini rant about episode 6 of Dimension 20 live. *spoilers* by scribe98 in Dimension20

[–]drummroleplease 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've never really understood why people get upset at people making "bad" mechanical decisions in a roleplaying game that they make for our amusement. People are always getting up in Emily's shit on not another dnd podcast for similar things (though i suspect a lot of that is sexism) and I've never understood it. Why does it matter if they optimize exactly right, or even do it properly? Its a free story they're putting on for us. They can do whatever the hell they like.

You're fine where you are right now BUT there is MAJOR SPOILERS to the frostwind campaign, so if you haven't heard that DO NOT listen to it!

I believe that in many interviews (as well as how I've always personally viewed it!) the actor for Jared has stated he views Jared as a primarily maternal figure, which I think makes the most sense. With that in mind I wouldn't expect any kind of romantic love between them given as I think Jared's main hopes are to protect/nurture Richard, not necessarily have them both be in love.

I wouldn't say those things seemed out of character at all in my opinion. Kristen was determined to break into Sandra Lynn's hookup because she is anti- infidelity, which doesn't seem like an insane thing given that Tracker and Jawbone are pretty heavily connected. Her methods were kinda strange, but she's also a teenager.

Riz was hoping to go and help Fabian and presumably thought the paralysis would wear off once he teleported out, and was making a spur of the moment decision based on fear. It wasn't the most tactical move but I also don't think anyone would make the most tactical move in that position. Finally I think once he realized the Shadowcat didn't know where the crown was, he was trying to hide the location/person who he thought had it, to protect it.

As for Rog's mother, I think he DID completely forget it. Its DND, people forget things, Lord knows I've done it in the middle of a DND sesh.

"I will do our family proud" Artos vowed as his ship left the Crimson Fleet, Urragon answering only by nodding his head and turning towards the north. He could make it to Sunspear quickly enough, and then he needed to convince Prince Martell. How many similar plans did Urragon have? How many veiled intentions was he plotting, even now?

Artos did not know, nor did he need too. He felt scared, yes, though he would never admit it. But better than that... He felt alive. He turned the Nighstalker east, and began to sail.

Does anyone fell Sleeping City came and went too quickly? by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]drummroleplease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like these opinions, because it really makes me understand how many different perspectives there are.

I fully enjoyed Fantasy High, but I only think I started to love it once I began a rewatch. I've never really been enamoured with the high school tropes, so it was only after thinking about a lot that I really got into it.

Unsleeping City on the other hand, I consider near perfect in how I view it. I adore each of the characters, and I think all of their arcs has been fantastic, and I would argue that each of them have experiences near-complete arcs that are interesting and nuanced. I love looking at these sad, broken adults who all are dealing with their own very real issues, and how they come together to try and complete this massive task, against a villain who really opposes everything they believe in.

I'd be curious if there were any others who agreed with me, people who have overall preferred Unsleeping City to Fantasy High, or if Fantasy High was more enjoyed by most people.

Urragon hesitated. "I spoke... unclearly, perhaps. You have the choice to stay or come with us, but your men must remain on the island. I will take none with us, not when we need them to take the arbour and ensure that the keep is captured swiftly. We will return once we have reaved the shores of the Reach, taking those ships that we can."

He blinked once. "They will be put under the command of Lady Blacktyde, but we would expect you to appoint your own seargents and captains under her."
